Like what would Julia Child think of the Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci-led “Julia & Julia?” Or how would Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas feel about the introduction of the vanilla Frosty when he so passionately loved the chocolate flavor? One thing we’re pretty sure we know, though, is that Frank Sinatra would love the newest bakery item to hit Sam’s Club’s shelves. It’s well-documented that the “New York, New York” singer loved a bakery cake—specifically, a cake from Entenmann’s bakery in Bay Shore, Long Island. Yes, that same Entenmann’s that you can buy at places like Walmart and even Sam’s Club now—but that’s not the bakery dessert we’re talking about. Sinatra is on record as very specifically ordering the famous Entenmann’s Crumb Coffee Cakes weekly—even when he lived across the country in Palm Springs. So, with his longstanding love for the buttery, golden coffee cake topped with crunchy cinnamon crumbles and powdered sugar, we’re pretty sure Sinatra would also 'start spreading the news' about Sam’s new New York Style Crumb Cake. Sam's Club Introduces New Member’s Mark New York Style Crumb Cake Sam’s Club’s bakery recently released its Member’s Mark New York Style Crumb Cake. The moist cake is topped with an extra-thick layer of buttery, brown sugar-cinnamon crumb topping for the ultimate sweet treat. In fact, that extra thick layer of topping is what truly makes this cake “New York-style” vs. the typical coffee crumb cake with a thinner layer. Sam's Club Entenmann’s actually has a New York-Style Crumb Cake, too, it’s just not as famous as the Sinatra-loved original. But with that over-the-top extra layer of crumb, we don’t know that the Rat Pack leader would be able to resist the cake hailing from his favorite city. We know we won’t be able to stay away from the $8 sheet cake for long. Even though it only hit clubs in May, Sam’s members are already raving about the store-bought cake. “Amazing! My whole family LOVED it! It is definitely a must-try and I hope they have it permanently,” said one reviewer. Boy, do we have some good news for that reviewer. Sam’s Club has confirmed with Allrecipes that the New York Style Crumb Cake is here to stay. The cake will join Sam’s “every day” bakery collection, which includes a selection of pre-made brownies, cookies, pies, and cakes that are available all year round. That means you actually can take a page from Sinatra’s book and get a crumb cake on a weekly basis—and Sam’s will even deliver, too! Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
