This sesame sauce recipe is delicious poured over chicken and broccoli. It can also be used as a dip for fried chicken. You only need a touch of vinegar; any more will turn it into a sweet and sour sauce.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup cornstarch

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • ½ cup water

  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon chile paste

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Directions

  1. Mix together sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Stir in chicken broth, water, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, chile paste, and garlic. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
