Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings

  • 8 strips bacon, coarsely chopped

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 (16 ounce) can B&M Original Baked Beans

  • 1 (15.5 ounce) can Joan of Arc Dark Red Kidney Beans

  • 1 (15 ounce) can Joan of Arc Spicy Chili Beans

  • ½ cup barbecue sauce

  • ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 2 green onions, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  2. Cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Discard all but 3 tablespoons bacon fat in skillet.

  3. Add onion and bell pepper; cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add beans, barbecue sauce, and 1/2 bacon; bring to a boil.

  4. Transfer beans to a 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake until bubbling, about 20 minutes.

  5. Remove foil; top with Cheddar cheese and reserved 1/2 bacon. Bake until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with green onions before serving.
