A simple charoset recipe for the traditional Passover staple. I always make a great deal extra to munch on for days! The mixture will turn the appropriate shade of brown to look like the mortar that it represents.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 10 servings

  • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and coarsely grated

  • 1 cup walnuts, finely ground

  • 2 tablespoons grape juice

  • 2 teaspoons honey

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  1. Mix apples, walnuts, grape juice, honey, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, 8 hours to overnight.

Recipe Tip

You can substitute brown sugar for the honey if desired.
