Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings

  • 1 ½ pounds cherry or grape tomatoes, diced

  • ½ cup finely diced onion

  • 1 jalapeño chile pepper, seeded and minced

  • 1 serrano chile pepper, seeded and minced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

  • ½ bunch fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh mint leaves

  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste

  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or more to taste

  • 1 pinch white sugar

  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Drain tomatoes in a strainer for 15 minutes.

  2. Combine tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, serrano, and garlic in a large bowl; pour lime juice over top. Stir in cilantro, mint, 1 teaspoon salt, oregano, cayenne pepper, and sugar.

  3. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Season with salt before serving.
