Kelly Clarkson Shared Her Hilariously Relatable Go-To Snack

And we can totally get behind it.

Do you have a quirky way you like to eat certain snack foods? Most people can understand twisting apart an Oreo, eating the creamy center first, and then munching on the chocolate cookies last. Maybe they can also relate to licking the sides of an ice cream sandwich until they can’t reach the ice cream in the middle of it before biting into it whole.

But we’re wondering how many people can relate to the way singer Kelly Clarkson, host of the talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” eats a Dorito. On a recent episode of the show, actor Sterling K. Clark surprised her with a gift box, and inside the box was a bag of the "Best. Gift. EVER!!" At least that’s how the show’s Instagram post described the bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

How Kelly Clarkson Eats Doritos

Food is frequently a subject on the talk show. When the newest season of the show started last month, Hoda and Jenna brought her a “vat of queso” to celebrate. She’s talked to Selena Gomez about her pickle juice snow cones and Kristen Chenoweth about everything she loves from 7-Eleven.

She’s usually excited to talk about food (who’s not?), but when Sterling K. Brown came in singing “Jingle Bells” to surprise Kelly with a gift, her excitement just to see him could be felt through the screen. When she opened the box to find the bag of hard-to-resist snack chips she screamed “Yes!” there was more genuine excitement.

“How do I like to eat these?” she asked Brown.

“If you guys don’t know, Kelly enjoys Doritos, but not the whole Dorito,” he told the audience. “She just likes to lick the dust off the Dorito and then throw it away.”

Together they enjoy “just the dust” and then Clarkson tosses the chip (which she calls a cookie). “It is so good,” Kelly says.

It’s both a hilarious and relatable way to enjoy a Dorito. Most of the scientifically-engineered-to-please flavor, of course, is in the dust so why not just enjoy the dust and toss the chip?

Some commenters on Instagram could definitely relate.

“I do this too but with the ranch ones,” one of the show's followers said. “I thought I was the only one.” Another said, “That's how I eat my Doritos too seriously!!!!”

“My jaw is dropped to the floor because I lick my Dorothy then toss the chip!” exclaimed another. “I thought I was the only weirdo!! How funny Kelly likes to as well!! Too funny!!” (And then the same commenter said “wish I could edit” which is also completely relatable.)

We’re also relating to Doritos as a gift. Maybe not the only gift we get for the holidays, but we would certainly not mind opening a box and finding snacks inside!
