If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Kotb over her years as a news anchor, it’s that she loves to snack. And while reporting on a recent trend where people install snack drawers next to their beds for easy access, we learned that Kotb is an avid bed snacker, too—much to the displeasure of her co-host Jenna Bush Hager. “So a lot of people like to snack in bed. I feel you, and I’m with you. I think it’s a good idea,” Kotb said on “Today.” What’s her bedside table snack of choice? Well, if you’ve watched “Today” for a while now, you might already know—it’s Ritz crackers. “A sleeve of Ritz crackers is good to have,” Kotb said. Hager disagreed about Kotb’s bed-snacking habits, expressing concern about the crumbs getting in the sheets. To which Kotb jokingly replied, “Let me show you what you do,” as she mimicked sweeping the crumbs off the bed. But no matter where she eats the crackers, it’s clear they’re a fan-favorite in the Kotb household. “I love Ritz crackers,” she said. Oh, Hoda, we know. This isn’t the first time she has called out her love for the buttery round cracker. In July, when reporting on the girl dinner trend of adding a few no-cook things to a plate and calling it a “girl dinner,” Kotb shared that her go-to was a melty 2-ingredient Ritz creation she makes in the microwave. “Mine’s super simple, and it involves 15 seconds in the microwave,” Kotb said. “I take a Ritz, I put a thing of [cheese], and I melt it.” We tried the warm, cheesy Ritz and have to admit Kotb is on to something because it’s pretty tasty. Where we don’t know if we can get on board is the Ritz birthday cake that her “Today” co-anchors gifted her. The cake featured a vanilla boxed cake mix that had crumbled Ritz baked into it, vanilla icing, and a Ritz cracker decoration around the outside. Kotb was over the moon about the sweet and savory cake, but we’d definitely have to try it for ourselves before calling it in on our next birthday. For now, we might just stick to keeping a sleeve of Ritz next to our bed—and a slice of cheese at the ready for those moments when you want a little bit of melty goodness. Was this page helpful?
