John Stamos Turns 61 Today—This Is the Sweet Treat He’s Probably Celebrating With

To be frank, I’ve heard about a lot of celebrity-loved foods that are pretty out-there. We have Kelly Clarkson who only eats the Doritos’ flavoring off the chip and then throws the actual chip away. Adele, who dumps Worcestershire sauce over her potato chips before digging in. And, of course, Snoop Dogg, who craves hard-boiled eggs when he has the munchies. 

As bizarre as some of those choices may be, I could have never guessed what John Stamos shared as his favorite snack on First We Feast’s TikTok series “Snacked.” 

John Stamos' Favorite Sweet Treat

Leave it to Uncle Jesse to shock us all with his go-to sweet treat: fondant. 

“It’s like putting heaven in your mouth,” he says while taking a bite of the bright yellow cake topper. “It’s just so good and soft and chewy.”

That’s right, the “Full House” star says the icing made from gelatin, shortening, and sugar is one of his favorite snacks. 

Traditionally, fondant is used for intricate cake decorating—like what you’d see “Ace of Cakes” Duff Goldman or “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro use. Stamos says his wife, Caitlin McHugh, uses fondant when making cakes for their 6-year-old son, Billy. 

“She hides it from me because I’ll eat it, but I know all her hiding spots,” Stamos says.

Most people probably don’t keep fondant in their homes at all times—unless, of course, they use it for baking frequently. But, seeing as Aug. 19 is Stamos’ 61st birthday, we’d like to believe that McHugh is whipping up a huge cake topped with all the pillowy fondant he could ever want. 

“I bet you nobody has ever said fondant wasn’t one of their favorite snacks on this show,” Stamos says.

Fondant is, obviously, edible, but many people probably wouldn’t consider it their go-to snack—especially when not accompanied by a piece of cake. And the TikTok comments confirmed that. 

“John ily but fondant tastes like Play-Doh,” one user commented.

“No way I would have ever thought someone would eat fondant as a snack,” wrote another.

John Stamos' Other Go-To Snacks

While Stamos’ first snack choice may be divisive, the other two are pretty classic. The “UnPrisoned” actor says he loves “all chips,” but specifically Have’A Corn Chips, and Simple Mills crackers.

“I eat them in bed, too,” he says about the crackers. “Would you kick John Stamos out of bed for eating crackers? And the answer my wife would say is, ‘Yes,’ she does.” 

I can’t judge Stamos for enjoying a cracker or two in bed—he’s in pretty good company with “Today” host Hoda Kotb, who loves a Ritz cracker while cozy under the sheets, and me, who’s known to have a chip or two while snuggled in bed.

I might not bring fondant on my episode of “Snacked,” but, hey, it looks like Stamos is representing the fondant lovers all on his own. You got it, dude!
