Timothée Chalamet's Midnight Snack Comes From Trader Joe’s

And it's a freezer find we've never tried.

Timothee Chalamet

When I’m hungry late at night, I’ll usually reach for a bowl of cereal. It’s not a particularly unique way to stave off the midnight munchies, but it certainly hits the spot when I’m up late working or binge-watching “Friends” for the millionth time. And, as it turns out, celebrities really are *just like us*, in that they get hit with late-night cravings. What's more, a lot of them get quite creative when it comes to midnight snacks.

Selena Gomez likes to put pepperoni and spray cheese on Ritz crackers. Bethenny Frankel likes yogurt with Cap’n Crunch cereal on top. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ has a classic late-night snacking habit: Doritos (he claims he eats them every night in bed).

Recently, while promoting his new movie “Wonka,” Timothée Chalamet, who plays the titular main character in the film, shared his favorite midnight snack. Chalamet turns to his freezer for savory snack from other than Trader Joe's. And while it may take a little longer to prepare than my bowl of cereal or some other celebs’ choices, that extra time seems well worth it.

Timothée Chalamet’s Go-To Trader Joe’s Product

We know that celebs love Trader Joe’s just as much as we do. Tiffani Thiessen, shops there and then puts her favorite snacks in the front seat to munch on while she drives home. Al Roker and his "Today" co-anchors Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager all have their go-to products that they never leave the store without.

Thanks to a “Wonka” promotional spot, we now know that Chalamet’s favorite midnight snack is, in his words, the “Trader Joe’s ham and glazed onion tart.” He’s talking about Trader Joe’s Tarte D’Alsace, a French-style flatbread with crème fraîche, ham, caramelized onions, and Swiss-style Gruyère cheese. It's typically found in the frozen section of TJ’s and counts Chalamet amongst its many fans; the flatbread has even amassed somewhat of a cult following online.

Clearly, Chalamet has leveled up late-night munching. And while I wanted to run out and try it immediately, much to my dismay, Trader Joe’s does not seem to carry this delicious-sounding flatbread at the moment. However, it would appear that it’s one of the store’s rotating seasonal items that comes and goes somewhat frequently. I’ll be scouring the frozen foods section each time I shop there to see if it’s returned.
