The 4-Ingredient Breakfast Jason Momoa Eats Every Day

Even he knows it's a bit unusual.

Let’s face it: if you want to look like Jason Momoa, you probably need to stick to a routine. Even though the “Aquaman” actor recently posted a TikTok jokingly telling Chris Hemsworth (who plays Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) to “eat his heart out” because Momoa could wear a muscle suit instead of working out for his new movie, Momoa likely has a pretty intense regimen to stay in shape.

Part of that daily routine is breakfast. Because while some stars like Dwayne, “The Rock,” Johnson use breakfast as a once-a-week cheat meal, Momoa opts for the same breakfast every morning.

However, it’s not as traditional as Eli Manning’s bowl of fruit or even Alabama coach Nick Saban’s two Little Debbies. In fact, even Momoa himself calls it a “weird breakfast thing.”

What Jason Momoa Eats For Breakfast Every Day

“I always have rice with avocado, sunny-side-up eggs, and sardines,” Momoa told “People.”

And, yes, he did clarify that “always” means every morning “if he can.” So, each day, Momoa fries up two sunny-side-up eggs—not over easy eggs, that’s an important distinction—with rice, avocado, and sardines.

But, because not all sardines are created equally, the actor does have specific requirements for the fish. He says the sardines must be fresh—sorry, no tinned fish for Aquaman—and he likes them to be grilled.

While Momoa doesn’t specify exactly how he eats the dish, we’d assume it’s in the form of a rice bowl topped with eggs, fish, and avocado.

Even though this is a self-described “weird breakfast,” it isn’t really all that weird or surprising for an actor who’s looking to stay in shape for his movie roles. It’s a pretty complete, balanced meal with whole grains, healthy fats, and lots of protein.

However, don’t worry, The Rock isn’t the only heavy-lifting celeb who loves a cheat meal. Momoa’s breakfast order changes when he’s in his home state of Hawaii. Then, it’s a feast.

“If I’m in Hawaii, it’s Portuguese sausage, eggs, rice, [macaroni] salad, kalua pig, lau lau, and a big bowl of f---ing poi,” he told “People.” “[Then], it’s back to sleep.”

He’s also been known to stop at Waveland Cafe in Iowa to enjoy the breakfast dish that's named after him. The “Momoa” is a plate of hashbrowns topped with biscuits and gravy, two sunny-side-up eggs, and a side of bacon. Now, that’s the kind of breakfast we’d expect for the 6’ 3”, 240-pound Aquaman.
