If you haven’t caught the return of Ina Garten’s show "Be My Guest," where she invites actors, musicians, and general superstars at life to her home to chat, cook, and eat, then you should. The first episode of the new season features actress Jennifer Garner of "Pretend Cooking Show" fame, where Ina herself has been a guest.

On this installment of “Be My Guest,” Ina makes brown butter skillet cornbread for Garner, who declares it to be “the best thing I've ever had in my whole life," no small praise from the actress, who has a beloved family cornbread recipe herself.

Then Garner, who has some fan-favorite recipes of her own, like an easy “anytime” cake and the 5-ingredient pasta recipe based on her show "The Last Thing He Told Me,” shows Garten a thing or two in the kitchen.

Garner shares a 3-ingredient blender pizza sauce that she learned from master pizzaiolo (pizza maker) Daniele Uditi of LA’s award-winning restaurant Pizzana. So although it’s really simple, the pizza sauce method comes with some serious cred.

How to Make Jennifer Garner’s 3-Ingredient Blender Pizza Sauce

“You won’t believe the sauce that I do,” Garner tells Ina as they begin to make pizza. “It’s cheating.”

Garner dumps a 28-ounce can of whole tomatoes into a blender and adds a couple of glugs of olive oil, followed by a large pinch of flaky salt

Garner says that Uditi combines the mixture together with his hands, but she prefers using a blender. She blends the three ingredients together for about 10 seconds, and voila—the pizza sauce is done.

“That was the easiest tomato sauce in history,” says Garten. The cooking duo uses the sauce to make a simple pizza. When they’re done, Ina asks Jennifer to make her legendary pizza cracker—pizza dough sprinkled with olive oil and herbs and baked until it has a crisp and bubbly cracker consistency.

How to Make Jennifer Garner’s Pizza Sauce Your Own

If you prefer your pizza sauce with a bit more complexity, this blender sauce makes for a perfect base. Add a few cloves of garlic, some fresh basil leaves, dried oregano, onion powder, or crushed red pepper flakes before blending for a broader flavor profile that suits your taste.

Once you get this simple pizza sauce down, try it with our 2-Ingredient Pizza Dough for some of the easiest homemade pizza you’ve ever baked.
