Cantaloupes Recalled in Multiple States Due to Salmonella Risk

Eagle Produce LLC of Scottsdale, Arizona, has recalled 224 cases of whole cantaloupes due to potential contamination with salmonella, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The fruit was distributed in Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia, and sold at various retail supermarkets.

Routine testing by the state of Michigan revealed the presence of salmonella in the cantaloupes. No illnesses have been reported at the time of this writing.

How to Identify the Recalled Cantaloupe

The cantaloupes were distributed to retail supermarkets Aug. 12-17, 2024, in Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. Each cantaloupe has a red and white sticker labeled "KANDY" at the top, with a UPC code of 4050. A photo of the sticker is available on the FDA's recall page. The affected lot code is 846468.

What to Do If You Purchased the Recalled Cantaloupe
