Stephen Fain "Steve" Earle (/ˈɜːrl/) (born January 17, 1955) is an American rock, country and folk singer-songwriter, record producer, author and actor. Earle began his career as a songwriter in Nashville and released his first EP in 1982. His breakthrough album was the 1986 album Guitar Town. Since then Earle has released 15 other studio albums and received three Grammy awards. His songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, Shawn Colvin and Emmylou Harris. He has appeared in film and television, and has written a novel, a play, and a book of short stories.
Earle was born in Fort Monroe, Virginia, and grew up near San Antonio, Texas. His father, Jack Earle, was an air traffic controller. Although he was born in Virginia where his father was stationed, the family returned to Texas before Earle's second birthday. They moved several times but Earle grew up primarily in the San Antonio area.
Earle began learning the guitar at the age of 11 and was placed in a talent contest at his school at age 13. He is reported to have run away from home at age 14 to follow his idol, singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt around Texas. Earle was "rebellious" as a youngster and dropped out of school at the age of 16. He moved to Houston with his 19-year-old uncle, who was also a musician, where he married and worked odd jobs. While in Houston Earle finally met Van Zandt, who became his hero and role model.
Steve Earle (born November 1, 1945) is an English former footballer who played professionally in both England and the United States.
An industrious midfielder, Earle played over ten years (1963–1974) for Fulham F.C. He then moved to Leicester City, playing from 1974 to 1978. During his time with Leicester City, Earle also played one game on loan with Peterborough United. In 1978, Earle moved to the Detroit Express of North American Soccer League. He played fifteen games for the Express in 1978, then moved to the Tulsa Roughnecks for eight more games at the end of the season. He remained with the Roughnecks for two more outdoor as well as one NASL indoor season. In the fall of 1980, he signed with the Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League for one season.
In 1983, Earle became the assistant coach of the Tulsa Roughnecks. In November 1983, he took over as Roughnecks' head coach during the indoor season and had an 11-20 record and was released in March 1984. He later coached other youth and professional teams in Tulsa.
Earth Moving is the 12th record album by British musician Mike Oldfield, released in 1989. Unlike Oldfield's albums released prior to Earth Moving, the album contains no instrumental tracks.
Oldfield used several vocalists on the album, including his then girlfriend, Anita Hegerland. The album's music was performed mainly with synthesizers. It was the first time Oldfield recorded an album without an instrumental piece; each track being vocal-based pop and rock songs. Oldfield's only other album free of instrumentals to date is 2014's Man on the Rocks.
The final track, despite appearing to be a lengthier piece, consists of two short, apparently unconnected songs, combined into one track, with a noticeable pause in between. According to Oldfield, the album was made with the full understanding of his recording company, Virgin Records, which demanded he create more commercially oriented material than his previous albums. After recording Earth Moving Oldfield wanted to move away from 'computerised music' and return to real musicians and instruments; this is evident in his next album, Amarok.

Christmas Eve 1975 at Guy and Susanna's Place. From the Movie "Heartworn Highways".
Veteran folk singer Steve Earle shared an intimate, seven-song concert with a small group of fans at Minneapolis club Icehouse in June. He shared his stories of Guy Clark, who helped Earle get into the music industry in the 1970s and played a couple songs from his 2019 album – 'Guy' – that pays tribute to his mentor. Earle also played solo acoustic versions of 5 songs throughout his storied career.
Steve Earle has lived through the sort of horrors that have launched a million country songs: addiction, affliction, heartbreak, even prison. He wears them in his voice, but what's most appealing about him is the wide-eyed, unmistakable fearlessness with which he goes about his life these days. The singer, author, actor and activist showcases many of his talents at the NPR Music offices. Since I was a teenager I dreamed of learning to play the guitar. My parents were not too wealthy and buying an instrument was therefore out of the question, so my dreams remained dreams. Later, when my own son became a musical education teacher and also played the guitar, I started to get the itch again and after my retirement I bought my own guitar and only took lessons with my son with an emphasis on chords and scales. This video gives an idea of what can be achieved after a few lessons and of course practice.
enjoy!

This is a video clip that every human should see. Many of us have been taught about how the solar system works by viewing a physical model that has the sun in the middle with the planets going around and around in a simple circular orbit without properly accounting for the motion of the sun (approx. 450,000 miles per hour). Because the both sun and the galaxy are moving through space, the Earth spirals an incredible distance through space in a year's time. How far the Earth moves depends on the reference point you are using for something "stationary" or "background" even though all objects in the universe are in motion. The Earth rotates at 0-1040 mi/hr (depends on latitude) The Earth orbits the sun at approx. 66,629 mi/hr The sun orbits the galactic center at approx. 447,000 mi/hr...
THIS is how we actually move through space!
This short animation shows how the Earth remains tilted as it revolves around the Sun. This tilt is the cause of our seasons - when the Sun is shining directly down on the Northern Hemisphere (when Earth is to the left here) it's Summer everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere and Winter for everyone in the Southern Hemisphere. Half a year later, (when the Earth is on the right side of the screen) the seasons are reversed. The Sun shines directly down on the Sourthern Hemisphere making them have Summer, while it's Winter in the North. I have also created a version of this you can watch with 3D glasses. In space, the Earth moves in different ways. One way the Earth moves is by spinning on its axis. An axis is an imaginary line that runs through the Earth’s center. This spinning movement on its axis is called a rotation. As it rotates, part of the Earth is facing the sun. This part of the Earth it lit up and experiences daytime. At the same time, ...

You're here, you're gone
I'm still hangin' on
This game ain't nothin' new
You've changed your mind
So many times
But I'm still in love with you
I'll think it over when you're walkin' out the door
Why'd you go and leave me sad and blue
And if you knew
What I go through
You'd think it over too
I hope someday
I'll find a way
I'll walk right out on you
Til that day comes
I'm still the one
If you should need a fool
