His songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, Shawn Colvin and Emmylou Harris. He has appeared in film and television, and has written a novel, a play, and a book of short stories.
Earle was born in Fort Monroe, Virginia, and grew up near San Antonio, Texas. His father, Jack Earle, was an air traffic controller. They moved several times but Earle grew up primarily in the San Antonio area.
Earle began learning the guitar at the age of 11 and was placed in a talent contest at his school at age 13. He is reported to have run away from home at age 14 to follow his idol, singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt around Texas. Earle was "rebellious" as a youngster and dropped out of school at the age of 16. He moved to Houston with his 19-year-old uncle, who was also a musician, where he married and worked odd jobs. While in Houston Earle finally met Van Zandt, who became his hero and role model.
Steve Earle (born November 1, 1945) is an English former footballer who played professionally in both England and the United States.
An industrious midfielder, Earle played over ten years (1963–1974) for Fulham F.C. He then moved to Leicester City, playing from 1974 to 1978. During his time with Leicester City, Earle also played one game on loan with Peterborough United. In 1978, Earle moved to the Detroit Express of North American Soccer League. In 1983, Earle became the assistant coach of the Tulsa Roughnecks. In November 1983, he took over as Roughnecks' head coach during the indoor season and had an 11-20 record and was released in March 1984. He later coached other youth and professional teams in Tulsa.
Mon Oncle (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃ nɔ̃kl]; My Uncle) is a 1958 comedy film by French filmmaker Jacques Tati. The first of Tati's films to be released in colour,Mon Oncle won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, a Special Prize at the 1958 Cannes Film Festival, and the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Foreign Language Film, receiving more honors than any of Tati's other cinematic works.
The film centers on the socially awkward yet lovable character of Monsieur Hulot and his quixotic struggle with postwar France's infatuation with modern architecture, mechanical efficiency and consumerism. As with most Tati films, Mon Oncle is largely a visual comedy; color and lighting are employed to help tell the story. The dialogue in Mon Oncle is barely audible, and largely subordinated to the role of a sound effect. The drifting noises of heated arguments and idle banter complement other sounds and the physical movements of the characters, intensifying comedic effect. The complex soundtrack also uses music to characterize environments, including a lively musical theme that represents Hulot's world of comical inefficiency and freedom.

Christmas Eve 1975 at Guy and Susanna's Place. From the Movie "Heartworn Highways".
Veteran folk singer Steve Earle shared an intimate, seven-song concert with a small group of fans at Minneapolis club Icehouse in June. He shared his stories of Guy Clark, who helped Earle get into the music industry in the 1970s and played a couple songs from his 2019 album – 'Guy' – that pays tribute to his mentor. Earle also played solo acoustic versions of 5 songs throughout his storied career.
Steve Earle has lived through the sort of horrors that have launched a million country songs: addiction, affliction, heartbreak, even prison. He wears them in his voice, but what's most appealing about him is the wide-eyed, unmistakable fearlessness with which he goes about his life these days. The singer, author, actor and activist showcases many of his talents at the NPR Music offices. Set List: "Waitin' On The Sky" "Every Part Of Me" "This City" For more videos, visit npr.org/tinydeskconcerts
Since I was a teenager I dreamed of learning to play the guitar. My parents were not too wealthy and buying an instrument was therefore out of the question, so my dreams remained dreams. Later, when my own son became a musical education teacher and also played the guitar, I started to get the itch again and after my retirement I bought my own guitar and only took lessons with my son with an emphasis on chords and scales. This video gives an idea of what can be achieved after a few lessons and of course practice.
enjoy!

M. Hulot (Jacques Tati) is the dreamy, impractical, and adored uncle of nine-year-old Gérard Arpel, who lives with his materialistic parents, M. and Mme. Arpel, in an ultra-modern geometric house and garden, Villa Arpel, in a new suburb of Paris, situated just beyond the crumbling stone buildings of the old neighborhoods of the city. Gérard's parents are entrenched in a machine-like existence of work, fixed gender roles, the acquisition of status through possessions, and conspicuous displays to impress guests, such as the fish-shaped fountain at the center of the garden that, in a running gag, Mme. Arpel activates only for important visitors. Each element of Villa Arpel is stylistically rather than functionally designed, creating an environment completely indifferent to the comfort, or la...

Jaques Tati - Mon Oncle (1958) The struggle of a simple man with a "highly modern" kitchen and a bouncing jug... NOTE: I am fluent in both english and french (although neither are my native tongue). Most people are not. Please be polite and comment in english, not french.

This video discusses and analyzes Mon Oncle as a playful attack on modernism, on gadgets that aren't made for humans, noises and fashion that are annoying, and yet Tati finds joy in life even in ugly or annoying places. The movie contrasts old neighborhoods with modern houses, and does that very well. ...

You're here, you're gone
I'm still hangin' on
This game ain't nothin' new
You've changed your mind
So many times
But I'm still in love with you
I'll think it over when you're walkin' out the door
Why'd you go and leave me sad and blue
And if you knew
What I go through
You'd think it over too
I hope someday
I'll find a way
I'll walk right out on you
Til that day comes
I'm still the one
If you should need a fool
