Soft Machine are an English progressive rock band from Canterbury, named after the book The Soft Machine by William S. Burroughs. They were one of the central bands in the Canterbury scene, and helped pioneer the progressive rock genre. Though they achieved little commercial success, they are considered by AllMusic to be "one of the more influential bands of their era, and certainly one of the most influential underground ones."
Soft Machine (billed as The Soft Machine up to 1969 or 1970) were formed in mid-1966 by Robert Wyatt (drums, vocals), Kevin Ayers (bass, guitar, vocals), Daevid Allen (guitar) and Mike Ratledge (organ) plus, for the first few gigs only, American guitarist Larry Nowlin. Allen, Wyatt and future bassist Hugh Hopper had first played together in the Daevid Allen Trio in 1963, occasionally accompanied by Ratledge. Wyatt, Ayers and Hopper had been founding members of The Wilde Flowers, later incarnations of which would include future members of another Canterbury band, Caravan.
The Soft Machine is a novel by William Burroughs published in 1961.

North Point (Chinese: 北角) is a mixed-use urban area in the Eastern District of Hong Kong. It is in the northeastern part of Hong Kong Island, between Causeway Bay and Quarry Bay, and projects toward Kowloon Bay.
North Point is bounded by Hing Fat Street (興發街) to the west and by Mansion Street (民新街) to the east, by Victoria Harbour to the north and Braemar Hill to the south. The Fortress Hill area forms the westernmost part of North Point, while the Tsat Tsz Mui area is located in its easternmost part.
Parts of North Point have been inhabited since before the British arrived in the mid-19th century. The Metropole Hotel was built in 1899 and was used until 1906. In 1919, the Hongkong Electric Company started operation of the territory's second power station at North Point. In the 1920s, Ming Yuen Amusement Park became a popular entertainment venues on the Island. During the 1930s, the beaches of North Point became one of the most popular places for holding swimming gala in Hong Kong. In 1938, the North Point Refugee Camp was built to accommodate the influx of refugees from the Mainland. The camp comprised 26 huts. Access to the camp was via Kam Hong Road and Marble Road. During World War II, the camp was renamed the North Point Camp, and used as a prisoner of war camp for captured Canadian soldiers during the Japanese occupation.
North Point is a station on the Hong Kong MTR Island Line and the western terminus of the Tseung Kwan O Line, located in North Point on Hong Kong Island. The livery of the station is tomato orange.
This station was opened in 1985 upon the completion of the Island Line. Until 2001, the station was only used by that line, and the layout of the station at that time featured a stacked side platform arrangement with trains running towards Sheung Wan Station operating on the level above trains running towards Chai Wan Station. Between 2001 and 2002, this station was expanded to facilitate a cross-platform interchange with the Tseung Kwan O Line. A new platform was constructed on each level opposite the existing platform and the station served as the temporary terminus of Kwun Tong Line. On August 4, 2002, the section of Tseung Kwan O Line from this station to Yau Tong was opened to allow passengers to develop familiarity with the new cross-harbour interchange arrangement. Since August 18, 2002, this station serves as the interchange station between the two lines as well as the terminus of Tseung Kwan O Line.
North Point is a mixed-use urban area on the north of Hong Kong Island.

I've got something to tell you
Hold on, I wanted to thrill you
It's nice, makes you feel better
It's called a Lullabye Letter
Hold tight, I'm not trying to con you
Get ready, I'm going to lay it on you
You're the sweetest thing I see
I'm telling you it's no lie
I've got lights in my brain, girl
We'll have fights in the rain, girl
You'll be good/bad together
Writing songs and call that the weather
If you've got something to sing me
Four o'clock's the best time to ring me
You're the sweetest thing I see
I'm telling you it's no lie
I've got something to tell you
Hold on, I wanted to thrill you
It's nice, makes you feel better
It's called a Lullabye Letter
Hold tight, I'm not trying to con you
Get ready, I'm going to lay it on you
You're the strangest scene I see
I'm telling you it's no lie
