The Kwun TongLine is one of the ten lines of the MTR network in Hong Kong. It starts at Yau Ma Tei in West Kowloon and ends at Tiu Keng Leng in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung. It is indicated in green on the MTR map. During the morning rush hour, the Kwun Tong Line utilises 27 trains on the tracks and keeps a 2.1 minute train interval. It currently travels through 15 stations in 27 minutes along its route.

History
The Kwun Tong Line was the first MTR line to enter service, and was a crucial part of the MTR "Modified Initial System". Its construction was approved in November 1975.
On 1 October 1979 service commenced on the Kwun Tong Line. The line ran between Shek Kip Mei Station and Kwun Tong Station, and each train consisted of four cars.
With extensions to the south, the line reached Tsim Sha Tsui on 31 December 1979, and on 12 February 1980 it first reached Central station (named Chater at the time), crossing the harbour for the first time.
When the Tsuen WanLine started service in May 1982, it took over the section of the Kwun Tong Line south of Argyle (present-day Mong Kok). Waterloo (present-day Yau Ma Tei) station became the terminus of the Kwun Tong Line and both Argyle and Prince Edward stations became interchange stations with the new line.
Manulife Financial Centre (traditional Chinese: 宏利金融中心) is an office building on Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Originally named Kwun Tong 223, it was completed during the second quarter of 2008. The building was renamed Manulife Financial Centre from 1 December 2009.
Kwun Tong 223 comprises two 28-storey office towers connected with a multi-storey structured thoroughfare on the top floors. The building form adopts full curtain wall facade design. The superstructure works were completed in just 18 months.
Kwun Tong 223 was hailed as a landmark office development in Kowloon East soon after its completion in late 2007 because it embodies not just state-of-the-art facilities but also an environmentally sustainable design. The urban waterfront location of Kwun Tong 223 allows tenants to enjoy Victoria Harbour views, whilst its open portal design enables a free passage of sea breeze to the whole neighbourhood.
One of the first New towns in Hong Kong, Kwun Tong was, and remains, a major industrial area. Its population has been growing rapidly, and the demand for housing, medical and educational facilities and services has been increasing. In view of this, a number of community development projects, such as the redevelopment of old housing estates and the construction of major parks, have been implemented in recent years. These projects have incorporated a wide range of supporting facilities, like primary and secondary schools, clinics, community centres and open spaces. All these facilities have brought about a new face to the Kwun Tong District, making it a more comfortable place for the people to live.
The station is elevated, unlike almost every other station in the system. Due to difficulties in installing platform screen doors (PSDs) in above ground stations, the MTR decided not to install PSDs in this station. However, due to recent accidents of falling into the tracks, the MTR has installed automatic platform gates (APGs) on the station's platforms. It is located far away from most residential areas, causing many residents of Kwun Tong to take other means of transport in order to reach the station. There is a shopping centre and office tower, named apm Millennium City 5, connected to the station.
Beneath the station building is a road tunnel which diverts traffic along Kwun Tong Road from the roundabout around the station.
