Why Germany Lost the Battle of Kursk 1943 (WW2 Documentary)

In summer 1943, Germany and the Soviet Union fought the arguably biggest single battle in history with millions of men, thousands of tanks and artillery guns – the battle of Kursk. The German Army wanted to hit the Red Army so hard that they couldn’t go on the offensive again. And indeed, new research shows that the Soviets suffered shockingly high casualties, up to 6 times more men and equipment. But why then did the Germans lose this historic battle?

The Loss of the Kursk
The Kursk was the Pride of the Northern Fleet based out of the Kola Peninsula naval bases. Highly decorated and capable, she was preparing a simulated attack during the 2000 naval exercise in the Barents Sea.
In my opinion, the survivors could have been rescued with the assistance of Norway and the U.K. But they were sacrificed for Russian pride.

Battle of Kursk 1943 - World War II DOCUMENTARY
After the defeat at Stalingrad (https://goo.gl/RvGTL8) and the loss of the 6th army, German Wehrmacht needed a decisive victory to get the initiative back and turn the tide of the World War II. The concentration of the Soviet troops around the Kursk salient offered that opportunity and Hitler ordered the operation Citadel with a goal of cutting the salient and surrounding the Red Army forces defending it. This would be one of the last German offensives on the Eastern Front and would culminate at the arguably biggest tank battle in history - Prokhorovka and Soviet counter-attacks during the operations Rumyantsev and Kutuzov.

After the heavy losses sustained by the opening of Operation Barbarossa, the Wehrmacht reached a decisive turning point. They could wait and be pummeled by an imminent Soviet offensive or take the upper hand and launch its own operation to encircle and subjugate the Red Army.
The decision came to Adolf Hitler, and the dictator opted to bet all of his armored forces and put together a decisive offensive at Kursk codenamed Operation Citadel.
However, the British let the Soviets know of the exact dates an...

Eastern Front animated: 1943/44
As 1942 ended, it became clear that Germany would not be able to defeat the Red Army. The question was, now that the resources of the Soviet Union had been greatly reduced and the Germans had the defensive advantage, did the Red Army have the strength to push the Germans back and avoid a stalemate?

_________
After the heavy losses sustained by the opening of Operation Barbarossa, the Wehrmacht reached a decisive turning point. They could wait and be pummeled by an imminent Soviet offensive or take the upper hand and launch its own operation to encircle and subjugate the Red Army.
The decision came to Adolf Hitler, and the dictator opted to bet all of his armored forces and put together a decisive offensive at Kursk codenamed Operation Citadel.
However, the British let the Soviets know of the exact dates and locations where the offensive would take place, and thus the Battle of Kursk began.
More than 2 million men, 7,000 tanks, and over 4,000 aircraft would participate in the world's largest tank battle, where the Germans were outnumbered 3 to 1 in men, armored vehicles, and supplies.
The advance was bitter and brutal, but the Germans still fought tooth to nail against a relentless Soviet army that had the resources to drain them out to the last man, bullet, and tank.

As 1942 ended, it became clear that Germany would not be able to defeat the Red Army. The question was, now that the resources of the Soviet Union had been greatly reduced and the Germans had the defensive advantage, did the Red Army have the strength to push the Germans back and avoid a stalemate?
