Synopsis[]
Two years ago, Manjiro learns that Kazutora is beefing with the motorcycle gang, the Black Dragons, and decides he'd fight them as well. But he wanted a valid sense of purpose to take on a motorcycle gang. Keisuke then suggests they make their own motorcycle gang. They want to create a gang where they can all put their lives down on the line for each other. Keisuke had been fighting all alone to protect the promise they made the day they created their gang and put their money together to buy a traffic safety charm.
Summary[]
Back on June 13th, 2003, Manjiro wishes the gang to gather at the shrine. He rides with Keisuke on his bike. As they stop on a red light, Keisuke claims his bike is the best in Tokyo. The rest of the gang also stop one by one on the red light and each claims his bike is the best. As it turns green, Pah-chin passes them all, stating his bike is the best and calls a race to the shrine. Annoyed, all start racing, but Manjiro starts to feel tired and falls asleep. Because they could fall, Keisuke drives more slowly and arrives last at the shrine, also having to carry the sleeping Manjiro to the top.
Manjiro wakes up and as they gather around, he asks them if they have heard about the Black Dragons. Takashi confirms, stating they are brutal and three years older. Manjiro then asks Kazutora why haven't he told them he was fighting the Black Dragons alone and Pah-chin recalls that Kazutora lives in the Black Dragons territory. Manjiro wishes to take them on, but the Black Dragons are big gang. Keisuke then proposes they form their own gang. They quickly agree and Keisuke explains what position each one will have: Manjiro as commander, Ken as vice commander, Takashi, a mediator who will command the elite guard, the powerhouse Pah-chin will carry their banner, while Keisuke and Kazutora will be the attack unit. Manjiro states he came up with a name "Tokyo Manjiro Gang". Everyone finds the name lame, but agrees to form a gang. Manjiro wonders what kind of gang they want and Keisuke wishes for a gang where they could all risk their lives for each other. Pah-chin then suggest they buy charms to commemorate the event.
They go to buy charms, but see that each cost 500 yen. Emptying their pockets, they realize no one have enough to buy himself a charm. Ken suggest they combine their money and that way they can buy one charm. As they buy one, Manjiro suggests that Keisuke keeps it as they formed the gang because of his idea.
Back in the present, Manjiro holds the charm, recalling the past events and that Keisuke was the one that created Toman, wanting it to be a gang that protects everyone. Moments later, they hear police sirens and everyone decides to leave. Kazutora tells them to leave as he will remain with Keisuke, as he its his fault and wishes to settle it. As Toman starts to leave, Kazutora tells Manjiro that he can't ask for forgiveness, but he will carry the burden for the rest of his life, and bows down. The battle ended as Toman's victory, but Kazutora is arrested. Later the conflict became known as the Bloody Halloween.
Two weeks later, Chifuyu visits Keisuke's grave, bringing him some yakisoba that he splits with him as he promised. Chifuyu recalls the time he was 12 and started his first year in a new school. He quickly beat some older guys, claiming to be the most important guy there. Later, his followers tell him that there is a guy that was held back and is still a first-year. Believing he could be some good delinquent, Chifuyu goes to look for him, but when he finds Keisuke Baji, he is surprised to see him look like a nerd with glasses and slicked-back hair. He wonders why he was held back and his followers guess he was an errand boy and decided to stop coming to school, or he is a shut-in. Initially Chifuyu looses interest, but later visits Keisuke when he is alone. Looking at him studying, he points him out he couldn't write "tiger" correctly and wonders why he is dressed like that. Keisuke states he can't be held back or he will make his mother cry. Chifuyu shows him how to write a "tiger" and Keisuke finds him a nice guy, and they end up talking more.
While going home, Chifuyu gets stopped by one of the senpai's he beat earlier, who called an older guys from Mandala gang. Chifuyu ends up headbutting their commander, stating he was just trying to greet them, and states they are lame for ambushing a single guy. Chifuyu manages to beat some of them, but they are too many for him. Keisuke then shows up, stating they are lame for attacking one guy, but thanks Chifuyu as with his help he managed to finish his letter. As thanks, he decides to help him and takes the Mandala commander in a single blow. As he beats them all, he warns them that if they touch his friend again, he will crush their entire gang. Keisuke then asks Chifuyu if he likes yakisoba. Amazed by what Keisuke did, Chifuyu confirms. Keisuke then invites him at his place, making Chifuyu realize they live in the same building, but different floors. However, Keisuke ends up having only one yakisoba and they end up splitting it. Finding Keisuke cool, Chifuyu decides to become his follower.
At Tokyo Juvenile Detention Center, Takemichi and Ken visit Kazutora. Kazutora tells them he is likely to get 10 years, but wonders if that's enough, however he have no intention of running away and will face what he have done. Ken tells him not to die, knowing what Kazutora was thinking, and that he won't forgive him if he takes his life to try to make amends. He then gives him a message from Manjiro, that he is still part of Toman and that he forgives him.
