“ | I’ve made a lot of enemies in my life, and I mean a lot. But out of all the people in the world, I hate you guys the least. | ” |
—Snake to The Bad Guys in the film. |
Cedric Snake, often known as Mr. Snake, is one of the primary characters of The Bad Guys. Initially the deuteragonist of season one and the film, he is the primary antagonist of season two, until the end of The Serpent and The Beast. While a part of the Good Guys Club and Shadow Squad G, Snake served as a rather pessimistic member, reluctantly assisting the team during their foolish heroics.
As the series progressed, he became more valorous, eventually saving Earth from Marmalade's army with his newly acquired superpowers. However, said superpowers influenced a period of isolation prior to season two, along with his possession by a demonic centipede known as Dread Overlord Splaarghön with the goal of conquering the multiverse, leading to his former antagonistic role.
Appearance[]
Books:[]
Mr. Snake is an anthropomorphic Eastern brown snake with yellow scales. He wears a black jacket and tie over a white shirt. After acquiring his superpowers, he instead wears a black cloak. Following his transformation into an Underlord, he grows a pair of curved horns that stick out on either side of the hood, along with two more pairs on his tail.
In the future, Snake appears slightly more sickly as a result of his corruption. His horns on his head and tail have been removed, and he now wears a beanie and is shown wrapped in blankets.
Film:[]
Mr. Snake is an anthropomorphic Burmese python with its species basic traits - such as a snake's tail, a forked tongue, fangs sticking out of his mouth, and the skin-pattern which are colored in various shades of brown, with a yellow underside. He also sport narrow black eyebrows and eyes with noticeable brown irises. He is implied to be the oldest of the group.
Throughout the movie, Snake changes his clothes regularly. His main attire is that of a tan bucket hat with a darker-colored band and two emoji pins on each side (sad right and angry left), and a red Hawaiian button-up shirt with a white Hibiscus pattern. Due to having no arms, the shirt has no sleeves.
In A Very Bad Holiday and Haunted Heist, he wears a red winter jacket with a dark red zipper in the middle and white stripes on the side.
Personality[]
In his childhood, Snake has been shown to be relentlessly bullied, beaten, and tormented by his classmates, leading to frequent misery and weakness. Notably, there was an incident where he was beaten with a garden rake, which has shown to be traumatic towards Snake. This would all lead to future low self-esteem and self confidence in his future. In one instance where Snake was nearly battered, Wolf saved and befriended him, and the two would remain close. Snake was taught more criminal and malicious behaviors by Wolf, which would help Snake in self-defense and his confidence. Snake would idolize Wolf for this, admiring his criminal skills whenever displayed. Although he would initially be reluctant towards committing crimes himself, he would eventually join Wolf in acts of thievery and lock-picking, and all of these traits would carry on to his adulthood. Because of Wolf’s status as an underground crime leader in his adolescence, Snake would also participate in related activities and gained a sense of arrogance. However, In Let the Games Begin!, Wolf would apologize for his influence on Snake, believing it’s his fault for having Snake associated with his abusive father and corrupting his innocent childhood.
Out of all of the Good Guys Club members, Snake is the most reluctant and critical of the concept, with sarcastic quips and chiding Mr. Wolf at every opportunity, especially when things go south. However, he wants to be a hero, but feels that he is not capable and will always be seen as a monster. But if given the chance, he strives to do the right thing. From the beginning of the series, Snake had always been pessimistic, mean-spirited, negative, and disrespectful towards his allies. In early missions, he would suggest or enact on selfish decisions, often when leaving a friend behind with no remorse. His friends would also call him out on such behaviors, though Snake would often retort back even further. Snake is also prone to jealousy, notably upon Agent Fox’s debut due to her achievements and skill, claiming she “made him feel like a dirty old snake again”. In addition, Wolf starting to view Fox as a love interest only made Snake more green-eyed, afraid Wolf would love Fox more than himself, and he occasionally mocked his feelings and negatively commented on their relationship.
Despite his frequent arguing and scolding with Wolf, Snake has shown to truly care for him, even claiming he’s the “best thing that’s ever happened to me”. As Wolf was his first friend ever in his childhood, and how he’d be the only person who truly care about home no matter what, he’s always shown a close bond with Wolf, though he doesn’t admit this. Shown especially in later books of season one, Snake would sometimes comment on his appreciation for Wolf, especially on their friendship and his constant care no matter what.
During the middle of season one, he would reveal his struggles with low self-esteem, starting to make self-deprecating comments and doubting the possibility of redeeming himself. However, after confessing those feelings to Wolf, and after all of his friends were kidnapped in Alien vs. Bad Guys, Snake decided he was “sick of being a Bad Guy”, and had the courage to temporarily defeat Marmalade and provide an escape route for his team. From that point onward, his confidence was significantly improved, as he kept leading his team to victory and safety with well-thought out plans in Do-You-Think-He-Saurus?! and The Big Bad Wolf. In the former, he guided Wolf and Shark to safety, while ensuring Piranha and Tarantula found a way to go back to present day. In the latter, he devised Operation Fur-Brain, a plan to return Wolf back to his regular form, along with having Operation Tarantula proceed as planned. Although his sudden acts of heroism were jarring for his allies, they were still proud of him nonetheless, and so was Snake, as he was even considered to be the new leader of the Good Guys Club. Although both operations were eventually successful, a freak accident would lead to Snake being presumed dead for a period of time, as he would return with an entirely different personality, and never quite the same again.
After Snake had fallen inside Marmalade’s ship cannon and gained the superpowers of his allies, he would return to save his friends once more, still retaining his heroism and confidence. Albeit notably boastful of his newfound abilities and even a bit prankish, he also became more empathetic, showing understanding towards Marmalade’s army and even apologizing for his team’s judgement. Despite threatening to fight his entire army, he also offered mercy, and assisted them in defeating Marmalade once and for all. Snake also developed a more reserved personality, not expressing as much emotion aside from his irritability and coming off as more laid-back. After the year-long time skip, Snake had actually been isolating himself the entire time, not stepping outside once since. As he received a variety of superpowers but had nothing to do as all evil was rid from the planet, Snake spent his isolation bored and questioning his purpose, believing he has far more potential than spending time with his “knucklehead” friends. His behavior was to a point where he was starting to regress back to his negativity, and worrying his entire team. During his isolation, he would be telepathically contacted by Dread Overlord Splaarghon, who would attempt convincing Snake to return back to his villainous roots, claiming his desired destiny would be achieved by opening the last remaining door to the multiverse. Snake was manipulated to such a point where he believed and agreed to such, but would instead wind up becoming corrupted by the entity.
Once joining the Underlords, Snake would regress far worse than he originally was, eventually becoming much more cruel and villainous in his current state. Initially, during books 11 to 13, he’s been show to be reluctant towards the position, even confessing and breaking down over his true feelings multiple times. Along with his confessions, his reluctance has lead to the point of him being possessed by Splaarghon often in order to finish a job. Snake would doubt his decision in joining the Underlords, showing fear and regret from his role and master. However, starting with They’re Bee-Hind You!, he starts to shed those traits and vulnerability of his. Instead, he’s been shown to enjoy his Underlord status more, not only growing more powerful, but becoming more malevolent and enjoying bringing suffering to his friends and enemies. This is shown further as the books progress, with his deeds ranging from remorselessly intimidating and harming Shadow Squad G, kidnapping and holding Piranha hostage, to brainwashing Shark and Hogwild and corrupting them into Underlords.
“ | NO! I know who I am! I AM THE DARK LORD OF SERPENTS! And you? You’re just a guy who ran out of time to save this damsel in distress! | ” |
—Snake to Wolf when denying his redemption. |
During Let the Games Begin, he would have Kitty as a hostage before attempting to remorselessly murder her with lava, albeit he was unsuccessful. However, he offered Wolf a chance at surrendering in exchange for Kitty’s survival, as an attempt to both motivate yet taunt him. While Wolf attempted to convince Snake to redeem himself, Snake refused, proudly reclaiming his title as the Dark Lord of Serpents. At the end of the book, Splaarghön would murder Fox in front of the entire cast, leading to Snake’s shock to the point of tears. However, he would also quickly move on and proceed to corrupt Kitty into an Underlord, seeming to put his job over his emotions.
In Look Who’s Talking, Shortfuse believes herself to also be responsible for Snake’s downfall. Because of an unprecedented chain of events leading to Snake’s superpower acquisition, Splaarghön was able to control Snake and have him bend to his will, and is sure that Snake was always warm-hearted but had unfortunately been affected by awful influences.
“ | You were right. Your instinct was right. Snake is good at heart. But so many things have pulled him in the wrong direction. | ” |
—Shortfuse to Wolf regarding Snake. |
When Snake debuts in the book, he appears to be more playful yet still malicious towards Wolf. He enthusiastically talks to Wolf about the Nightmare Realm and how he believes it to be his and Wolf’s origin due to them both being “monsters”, culminating with Snake briefly choking Wolf. Throughout the book, he clings onto the ideology of him and his friends to all be monsters, hoping for them all to return to their villainous roots and gain whatever they desire with power. He equates fear with power, having the opinion that those scary hold control over those scared. By this point, he seems to no longer be aware of Splaarghön’s influence, believing his current form to be his natural self.
At his peak in book 19, he appears to be surprisingly emotional, immediately rebuking the purified Underlords and instead being eager to eliminate the heroes alongside those remaining. Despite this, he’s still reluctant to kill Wolf but continues to fight him until The One’s arrival.
When returned back to normal, Snake considers himself to be “new and improved”, being more outgoing with his friends despite his newfound ailment. He’s shown to be very remorseful of his actions as an Underlord despite having little recollection of them. However, he’s also regained part of his self-deprecating habits as a result of his corruption and considers himself to be weak, even considering himself to be inferior to Wolf.
Biography[]
In the Books[]
Mr. Snake is one of the three outlaws recruited by Mr. Wolf, along with Mr. Piranha and Mr. Shark, to form the Good Guys Club.
Following the time travel incident, Mr. Snake was granted telepathic powers, able to lift objects with his mind and perform mind control. When the aliens attempted to steal all of the super powers back, Mr. Snake was caught in the cannon, accidentally absorbing all of the powers at once. This lead him to figuring out the key to defeating the alien invasion, by convincing the other aliens to rebel against Dr. Rupert Marmalade.
Mr. Snake spent over a year isolating himself from his friends, contemplating and exploring his new powers. His growing familiarity and boredom with his universe lead him to be vulnerable to the corruption of the Underlords. He was transformed into the Dark Lord of Serpents, with the goal of converting all of his friends into Dark Lords as well. Flashbacks of his childhood revealed that he was bullied until he met a young Mr. Wolf, who taught him how to be "bad" and stand up for himself.
In the Film[]

Telekinesis[]
Being one of the abilities received from the time travel anomaly, Snake is able to move objects and even people with his mind. His strength in such ranges from lifting Shortfuse to large vehicles, though this is weakened by either the power of someone or Snake being disrupted. As an Underlord, this power is further strengthened, as Snake is able to lift a variety of subjects and multitask while doing so. Snake commonly uses his telekinesis to hold his enemies hostage, such as Piranha, Kitty, Shark, and Hogwild.
Flight[]
His preferred method of transport, he is able to fly as a result of Marmalade's cannon.
Corruption Inducement[]
“ | I KNOW I HAVE A CHOICE! I COULD HAVE TURNED HER ALREADY. JUST LIKE…SNAP! But I chose not to. | ” |
—Snake demonstrating his ease of corruption. |
As an Underlord, Snake is able to corrupt anyone's mentality to become evil through a variety of methods, such as a simple gaze to his eyes, beam emission, or telepathy. However, unlike Splaarghön’s more controlled results, Snake’s victims displays crazed behavior, usually maniacally laughing and attempting to attack those nearby. The corruption is usually permanent, though it can be sometimes broken by either Fox or Piranha's purification abilities. While his abilities were initially weak and easily reversible with a punch to the victim, his strength gradually improves as the books progress, soon overpowering Fox and Piranha by The Others?! His abilities are further upgraded by Let the Games Begin!, as he is not only able to have a corruptive singing ability, but can also corrupt someone immediately with a snap of his tail, having done so to Kitty.
Beam Emission[]
Usually projected through his eyes, Snake is able to emit beams with a range of effects, with corruptive inducement and laser beams having been some.
Energy Constructs[]
Snake is able to form snakes of varying sizes via his Underlord energy and use them to attack whoever he desires. They are seemingly immune to any form of damage, as even cutting one in half will only duplicate the snake.
Weatherly Presence[]

Mr. Wolf[]
Books[]
This section is a stub. More information is required.[]
Snake and Wolf have the most complex relationship in the entire franchise by far; the pair were initially very close childhood friends who grew up together, but have since separated and become estranged yet reluctant enemies. At the beginning of the series, Snake was Wolf’s abrasive best friend who gradually revealed his emotions to Wolf throughout Season 1, with their already tight-knit bond having become even stronger throughout their adventures. However, Snake’s isolation and eventual corruption into an Underlord would force him to oppose not only Wolf, but all of Shadow Squad G with the goal of corrupting them as well. In books 12 and 13, Snake was extremely hesitant and not wanting to hurt his best friend, but was forced to numerous times until he eventually found pleasure in tormenting his former friends, Wolf included. Ever since then, Snake has resented Wolf for his tenacity and refusal to join his group’s cause.
The two first met when a young Wolf saved Snake from being abused by his classmates, with Wolf teaching Snake how to stand up for himself by means of violence. Eventually, Snake’s death threats towards his classmates had gained Wolf’s respect, and the two would start committing more crimes such as trespassing and carjacking over the years, and Snake had grown to idolize Wolf’s talent. When they were adolescents, Snake was introduced to Wolf’s father, Vinnie, whose abusive behavior towards Wolf had revealed why his best friend was a criminal in the first place. Regardless, the two proceeded to commit more crimes on behalf of Vinnie’s mafia operation until Vinnie’s death, in which Wolf took over leadership with Snake considered to be his second-in-command. Their shared love for crime had continued well until their adulthood, when Wolf offered Snake and the rest of the Good Guys Club to change their ways.
