According to Zee in episode sixteen, The Others are fragments of The One, having been separated across the multiverse until The One must fight Dread Overlord Splaarghön. Zee and Granny were on a currently unnamed planet, Abe was located in Drillaärgh's dimension, and Milton was unaware of his status until book 16.
