Katherine "Kat" Dumont is a contestant from Australian Survivor (2016).
Known for her multiple rivalries and becoming an underdog, Kat's annoying personality and poor performance in challenges made her a target early on. After surviving her first two Tribal Councils, Kat seemed destined to go on her third visit but, due to Peter Fiegehen's quit, was spared yet again. Following the tribe switch, Kat quickly jumped ships, but at Vavau's second Tribal Council as a new tribe, the majority alliance soon turned on Kat and she was voted out.

Occupation: Partnerships and Brand Manager
State: WA
Kat quit her job as partnership and brand manager for the West Australian Cricket Association to appear on Australian Survivor. She has developed a thick skin that has enabled her to thrive in a male-dominated environment.
Kat lives in Perth but grew up in the country until she was 12, so she is not afraid of creepy crawlies and getting dirty. She says: "I think there will be a lot of things about me which will surprise people. I'm a classic example of don't judge a book by its cover. Although I'm girly and I like to wear makeup and do my hair, I'm no frills and will do anything in my power to win. Bugs, dirt, hard work? Bring it all on."
A Survivor fan, Kat says her fellow castaways will be in for trouble if they upset her.
"I hate ignorance, I hate rudeness, I hate laziness and I hate disorganised people. So you could say there is a lot of things which get under my skin."
Applying for Australian Survivor was a no-brainer for Kat. She says: "It has been a life long dream to play the game but I also entered because I wanted to challenge myself. I think I will be underestimated and that will be a strength. Between my mental toughness, my social skills and ability to listen and observe, I can do this."
"I've been watching Survivor since I was a child. I think my style of game will be like Natalie's from US Survivor Season 29. She was super savvy and kept herself in the thick of things without hogging the limelight."[1]
Australian Survivor[]
To begin with, Kat was placed on the Aganoa tribe. From the first day, Kat tried to take the leadership position, dictating orders to her tribe. This resulted in annoying many tribemates, particularly Des, making her a target at their first Tribal Council on Day 2. Luckily for her, Des's unwillingness to help his tribe and lack of social ties ended up leading to his unanimous elimination.
Despite believing she was a part of an all-girls alliance with El, Kristie, and Phoebe, El and Phoebe were secretly working with the true majority with Evan, Lee, and Rohan, leaving Kat on the bottom. After losing a second Immunity Challenge on Day 8, Kat was on the chopping block yet again for her poor performance in the challenge. However, due to Evan trying to expose Phoebe and Rohan for lying about a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol, he ended up making a bigger target out of himself and was sent home in a 5-2 vote.
Things went from bad to worse for Kat after another loss only two days later. Even though Kat originally believed that her all-girls alliance would be voting for Rohan, after overhearing a conversation between El, Phoebe, and Rohan, she soon discovered that the two former had been double-crossing her. At Tribal Council, it seemed as though Kat's fate had been sealed, but due to Peter's quit, the vote was cancelled.
Knowing she would have gone home, Kat felt betrayed by her all-girls alliance. Luckily, Aganoa went on to win the next three Immunity Challenges, keeping her safe. On Day 19, the three tribes met for a special Reward Challenge, where the winning tribe, Saanapu was a given a "game changing" power. The tribe could either split off and become the captains of two new tribes or they could remain as one tribe and handpick four others to join them, leaving those left unpicked to form a new tribe altogether. Saanapu chose the latter option and Kat ended up on the new Vavau tribe.
Kat's new tribe did not perform much better in challenges than Aganoa and Kat wound up back at Tribal Council immediately. Eager to jumps ships and ditch her old tribe, Kat joined the Vavau alliance in splitting the votes between her former tribe members Phoebe and Rohan. Phoebe ended up playing an idol, sending Kat's newest rival Rohan home. After yet another loss at the following Immunity Challenge, Kat's flip came back to bite her as the original Vavau members targeted her for the upcoming vote. Despite trying to gather the votes to blindside Andrew, Kat was voted out in a 6-2 vote.
