Francois "Chappies" Chapman is a contestant from Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island and Survivor South Africa: Return of the Outcasts.
In Immunity Island, Chappies frequently found himself on the outs socially due to his association with players like Paul Cupido and his habit of hoarding food to himself. Despite this, a few key strategic decisions such as a Hidden Immunity Idol play at the merge gave him enough room to try to win his way to the end on Immunity Challenges. After losing the Final Immunity Challenge, he was left exposed for the first time in a long time, and Nicole Wilmans voted him out for his impressive history of challenge performances.
Chappies returned for Return of the Outcasts, where he started in the majority on the Masu tribe. However, his reputation for sneakiness caught up to him and he was blindsided at the first Tribal Council.

Francois Chapman – 'Chappies' to his friends and fellow castaways – is 32 and calls Centurion home. He describes himself as an optimist by nature, who loves life and strives to make a positive impact in others' lives by living his life to the fullest. "Swim upstream or don't swim at all," is his motto. Chappies says there's nothing he wouldn't do to win the game. "No hard feelings, just a hard game," he says.
Name: Chappies Chapman
Previous season: Survivor SA: Immunity Island S8
Age: 31
Hometown: Centurion
Chappies Chapman is addicted to growth and has a strong strive to improve in all aspects of his life, most notably in fitness, which he takes very seriously. He lives in Centurion with his wife and son and is involved in various online businesses, real estate, and the motivational speaking space.
Since becoming a father, Chappies has a renewed lease on life and is in constant pursuit of purpose. He is calmer and more at peace than before, partly due to his son's arrival – but also because no longer feels the need to prove his worth as a Survivor player.
From his previous experience, he learnt to think before he speaks and to avoid alienating people. That was his pattern at the start of his season – which ultimately put him on the back foot because he couldn't reconcile with them when he needed to work with them.[1]Survivor South Africa[]

Notes: ^1 The tribes raced to collect supplies. During the challenge, the castaways were also given the chance to claim their tribe's individual Immunity Necklace. The person that took the necklace would be safe at their first Tribal Council. However, no one claimed Vuna's necklace.
^2 This Reward Challenge saw an individual of each tribe battle for a reward item. The winner of each battle kept the reward for their tribe. Chappies won the third round against Renier Louwrens. ^3 The castaways individually decided whether to play for reward or immunity. The last person standing for their respective match wins what they chose to play for. Additionally, the last person standing in the reward match wins reward for their tribe, as well as a bigger reward for themselves. Chappies chose to play for reward. |

Return of the Outcasts[]
Having been voted out after the merge in Immunity Island, Chappies was assigned to the Masu tribe. He was quickly brought into the Breakfast Club alliance, which consisted Danté De Villiers, Marian de Vos, Meryl Szolkeiwicz, Shane Hattingh and Steffi Brink. On Day 3, Danté warned PK Phetoe and Toni Tebbutt that Chappies working the game at night, as he and Palesa Tau saw him alongside Steffi looking for a Hidden Immunity Idol the night before.
After losing the first Immunity Challenge, Chappies was targeted by his own allies, with the exception of Steffi. Ultimately, he was blindsided in a 5–4–1 vote, becoming the first person to be voted out of the season.
