Synopsis[]
The scene opens with Kat questioning whether or not Emma is allowes to have a boyfriend since Ryan is her ‘owner.’ Hailey agrees saying that there‘s a contract and everything and as the girls question how they even got Ryan to sign the contract. Mr. Nam goes on to explain that when Ryan was little, he had gotten out. Emma’s parents had found him and took him in, believing he was a stray dog. When Mr. and Mrs. Nam had found him, Emma’a parents were hesitant to believe that he was theirs since he didn’t even have a collar on. Emma’s parents offer to pay for it, which enrages Mrs. Name to the point where she reveals her true form to Emma’s parents as a threat to get Ryah back. This scares Emma’s parents, Espiecially since Emma’s mother was pregnant with her at the time. In an attempt to cal, down Mrs. Nam, Mr. Nam offers that when their property is stolen (being Ryan) they can take a human child I’m exchange. When Emma was born, she was quite small so they eventually agreed to wait until Emma was an adult to take her. Kat argues that Emma was practically raised with them, and as Mr. Nam begins to explain (“Because of their firstborn...”) Hailey interupts continuing to discuss a bet that Ryan wouldn’t confess his feelings to Emma.
Victor thanks Emma for coming out to see him so late at night and offers for them to move to a lighted bench. Emma replies that she likes the dark one better, still self-consious about her looks. Victor points out that it must seem odd for him to call her out so late at night when they had just seen each other earlier. He thanks her yet again before saying he’d like to ask her something. Naturally, Emma is curious and asks what. Victor says it may seem soon but he enjoyed their date and would like to keep seeing Emma. Emma stammers in response, unsure of what to say until Victor asks if she’d like to make it official and asks if she’d be his girlfriend. Emma blushes heavily.
Ryan wonders what Emma is doing out so late at night. When he makes it to the floor and outside, he sees Emma and Victor walking tohether. When Victor approaches, he immediately covers his nose. Victor introduces himself to Ryan as ‘Miss Ji’s boyfriend,’ and Ryan, still covering his nose seems shocked.
