The Mandalorian: The Rescue was originally solicited under the title The Mandalorian: Boba Fett Returns, with a release date of January 4, 2022.[3] The title was later pulled from online retailers and resolicited as The Rescue with a completely different focus and publisher's summary, but with the same ISBN.[1] The preceeding episodes of the season are told in a quick flashback fashion at the start of the book. It also skips the post-credits teaser for The Book of Boba Fett.[4]
