During the Invasion of Naboo, the Trade Federation Droid Army stormed the swamps of Naboo[5] and attacked[1] the Gungan capital[6] of Otoh Gunga. Being stationed on the parameter of the city, Captain Roos Tarpals saw the coming assault and, sounding a warning alarm, warned the population about the approaching battle droids. He coordinated the Gungan evacuation into the swamps[4] of Naboo's surface, from which the Gungans retreated to the sacred place. Otoh Gunga was left abandoned after the attack. After the defeat of the Trade Federation,[1] the Gungans were able to return to their cities.[7]
