WUSF Background

The  WUSF was authorized by the Wyoming Telecommunications Act of 1995. The purpose of WUSF is to assist local exchange carriers providing essential telephone services in areas of Wyoming to customers who must pay relatively high rates for such services. WUSF is part of the Wyoming Public Service Commission (WPSC), its statutes and rules can be found under W.S. § 37-15-501 and Commission Rule Chapter 5. 

July 17, 2024 - (Docket No. 90072-52-XO-24, Record No. 17487) - Order Establishing The Wyoming Universal Service Fund Assessment Level on a Final Basis of 1.9%, effective July 1, 2024. 

May 16, 2024 - (Docket No. 90072-52-XO-24, Record No. 17487) - Notice and Order Establishing the Wyoming Universal Service Fund Assessment Level on an Interim Basis - The interim WUSF Assessment of 1.9% will take effect July 1, 2024. 

July 1, 2023 - (Docket No. 90072-51-XO-23, Record No. 17226) - Order Establishing The Wyoming Universal Service Fund Assessment Level on a Final Basis of 2.3%, effective July 1, 2023.

May 17, 2023 - (Docket No. 90072-51-XO-23, Record No. 17226) - Notice and Order Establishing the Wyoming Universal Service Fund Assessment Level on an Interim Basis - The interim WUSF Assessment of 2.3% will take effect July 1, 2023.

July 1, 2022 - (Docket No. 90072-49-XO-22, Record No. 16983) - Order Establishing The Wyoming Universal Service Fund Assessment Level on a Final Basis of 2.7%. 

June 2, 2022 - (Docket No. 90072-49-XO-22) - Notice and Order Establishing the Wyoming Universal Service Fund Assessment Level on an Interim Basis - The interim WUSF Assessment rate of 2.7% will take effect July 1, 2022.  

May 13, 2021 - (Docket No. 90072-48-XO-21) - Notice and Order Establishing the Wyoming Universal Service Fund Assessment Level on an Interim Basis - The interim WUSF Assessment rate of 2.4% will take effect July 1, 2021

Effective February 1, 2021 the new WUSF assessment rate is 1.90% through June 30, 2021 .   The interim rate of 1.10% is effective July 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021.
