The 1989 Nintendo Power Awards was the 2nd annual Awards published in the May/June 1990 issue (volume 12) of Nintendo Power magazine. Its nominees were listed in volume 11.
Even though DuckTales was nominated for six out of the eight awards, it didn't win any of them. As for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 4 of its 6 nominations were listed in the "Best Character" category: one for each Turtle.

- These Awards were also known as the "Nester Awards", or simply just the "Nesters".
- Even though Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was included in the previous awards, it still made an appearance in this one. Because of that, the game won "Best Character" two years in a row.
