"You may dress like us, but you'll never hear the horns of freedom when you die, Yondu, and the colors of Ogord will never flash over your grave."
―Stakar Ogord to Yondu Udonta[src]

Stakar Ogord is a Ravager pirate captain and the founder of the Stakar Ravager Clan. Ogord saved Yondu Udonta from a life of slavery and welcomed him to the Ravagers, but he was later forced to exile Udonta for engaging in child trafficking, which violated the Ravager code. In 2014, upon learning that Udonta had sacrificed his life to save Peter Quill from Ego, Ogord honored his former friend with a Ravager funeral. He then reunited with his former Ravager teammates, who each led their own clans, to partner together.

By 2026, Ogord and a few other Ravager clans formed the United Ravagers and assisted the Guardians of the Galaxy in breaking into the Orgoscope.

Ravager Captain[]

Marrying Aleta[]

"I said 'Aleta, I love you, girl... but you're losing your mind!'."
―Stakar Ogord to his Ravagers[src]

As a young Ravager, Ogord met a fellow Ravager, Aleta, and spent many years traveling with her. While Ogord was quite fond and in love with Aleta, he usually regarded her as dangerous because of her crazy personality, and had hard times trusting her. Nevertheless, the two end up marrying each other, and become captains of their respective Ravager clans.[1]

Meeting Yondu Udonta[]

"I was a Kree battle slave for twenty years until Stakar freed me. He offered me a place with the Ravagers, said all I needed to do was to adhere to the code."
Yondu Udonta[src]

Many years before, Ogord rescued Yondu Udonta from life as a battle slave for the Kree Empire and inducted him into the Ravagers. However, he later discovered that Udonta had accepted a contract from Ego to deliver several of the Celestial's own children to him, breaking the Ravager's code, which prohibited them from engaging in child trafficking. While reluctant to do so, Ogord was forced to exile Udonta from the Ravagers because of his actions.[1]

Awkward Reunion[]

"If you think I take pleasure in exiling you, you're wrong. You broke all our hearts."
―Stakar Ogord to Yondu Udonta[src]

Later, Ogord, along with his clan of Ravagers went to the Iron Lotus to relax when he was approached by Yondu Udonta. Having exiled Udonta, Ogord refused to greet him and left the Iron Lotus, informing its madam that by servicing Udonta's exiled clan she had lost all the other Ravager clans as customers.

Ogord furiously argues with Yondu Udonta

Angered at Ogord's dismissal, Udonta confronted Ogord to tell him what he had to say, leading the two to get into an argument. Ogord angrily refused to listen to Yondu, stating that he had been dealing in children and that had broke the Ravager code and knowing fully well that Yondu deep down did not know but didn't care as he got rich. Ogord furiously refused to acknowledge Udonta and his clan as part of the Ravagers, stating that they would never show up on his grave. He bitterly expressed how it broke his heart at having to exile him but it was necessary before leaving.[1]

Yondu Udonta's Funeral[]

"You know, it's a shame that it took the tragedy of losing Yondu to bring us all together again. But I think he would be proud knowing that we're back as a team."
―Stakar to his team[src]

After Rocket contacted the Ravagers to tell them of Yondu Udonta's role in the Battle on Ego's Planet and also his subsequent sacrifice to save Peter Quill's life, Ogord, moved by his friend's heroic participation, was finally able to forgive Yondu. He and the other Ravager captains arrived during the funeral, where their ships saluted the dead Ravager in traditional fashion, signaling their re-acceptance of him as one of them.[1]

Ogord reunites with his team

Afterwards, he reunited the team and decided to go on adventures together and steal stuff. With Ogord being joined by his wife Aleta Ogord and Martinex, they also recruited Charlie-27, Krugarr and Mainframe who all expressed their excitement at being back together. Ogord then happily suggested they resume their former thieving activities.[1]

United Ravagers[]

At some point after the reunification of Ogord's old Ravager team, several Ravager clans, including Ogord's clan, grouped together to form the United Ravagers and acted collectively as a much larger team, where they will conduct thieving activities and heists together. After the Battle of Earth, Ogord and his crew welcomed a time-displaced Gamora who came from an alternate timeline into their ranks.[2]

Helping the Guardians[]

"Once in, Gamora is gonna lead you to the records, where maybe you can find the passkey to override the kill switch and help you save the hedgehog. But if you get into trouble, we will not be able to bail you out."
―Stakar Ogord to the Guardians of the Galaxy[src]

The United Ravagers were contacted by Nebula, through Gamora, to help the Guardians of the Galaxy infiltrate into the Orgoscope. They hijacked and boarded the Guardians' ship, after it had penetrated through the Orgoscope's security shields.

Ogord explains the plan to the Guardians

Once it was cleared up they were the ones that called Gamora, the Ravagers stood down, and Ogord entered the ship. The Guardians were supplied OrgoCorp uniforms, which Drax the Destroyer complained about the color not matching his eyes, but Ogord had no patience for it and yelled at Drax to put it on. Ogord explained the plan to them to steal the passkey to save Rocket. Ogord told the Guardians that Gamora would be joining them to get inside, but warned them that once inside, the Ravagers would not be able to help them, so they were on their own to escape.[2]

Reuniting with Gamora[]

"Welcome back."
―Stakar Ogord to Gamora[src]

After Gamora's adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy, she was picked up from Knowhere and rejoined the United Ravagers. Ogord was very happy to see her return, and embraced her in joy while other members of the Ravagers also celebrated happily.[2]

Personality[]

"I don't gotta listen to nothing, you betrayed the code. Ravagers don't deal in kids!"
"I told you before, I didn't know what was going on..."
"You didn't know 'cause you didn't wanna know, 'cause that made you rich."
―Stakar Ogord and Yondu Udonta[src]

As a Ravager captain, Stakar Ogord strictly adheres to the Ravager code, exiling Yondu Udonta, a personal friend when he broke the code, even though it "broke all [their] hearts" to do so. His ability to see through Yondu's lies of not knowing that his employer was murdering the children he hired him to kidnap shows that Stakar is not only clearly clever and smart, as one could easily expect from such a legendary Ravager captain, but he also holds a keen emotional perception.

However, Stakar is not without reason and is able to forgive those who broke the Ravager code should they do something to redeem themselves, as after Yondu heroically sacrificed himself to save the galaxy and Peter Quill from Ego, Stakar finally forgave Yondu and lamented that they had parted ways on bad terms. Also, having been inspired by Yondu's sacrifice, Stakar reunited with his original clan to form a new one as they became a family. Stakar even took in a time displaced Gamora into his clan and came to care for her.
