- "Thanks for the feedback, Jimmy. If only my drones were as forthcoming."
- ―Tyler Hayward to Jimmy Woo[src]
S.W.O.R.D. Drones are drones used by S.W.O.R.D. to collect data.
History[]
Westview Anomaly[]
Discovering Westview[]
- "Wait, where did it go?"
"It was right there." - ―Monica Rambeau and Jimmy Woo[src]
In 2023, after being grounded by Tyler Hayward and sent to investigate a missing person's case in New Jersey, Monica Rambeau met FBI agent Jimmy Woo at the road leading to a town known as Westview. Once Woo informed Rambeau about the case, and the cops from Eastview said that the place didn't actually exist, Woo expressed that the town didn't want him to enter. This prompted Rambeau to use one of the S.W.O.R.D. Drones she was equipped with. However, when the drone reached a certain radius to the town, it disappeared from view completely, leading Rambeau to step closer and discover an energy field surrounding the town. She then tried to touch it, but was sucked inside.[1]
Finding a Strange Toy Helicopter[]
As Wanda Maximoff was attending her 1960s home, she heard a crash coming from outside, which prompted her to investigate. When heading to her front yard, she discovered the drone that was sent by Monica Rambeau earlier, but it had been warped into a toy helicopter that strangely was colored, as opposed to the rest of the world. As Maximoff inspected the object confused, Agnes interrupted and startled Maximoff.[2]
Investigating Westview by S.W.O.R.D[]
- "Those drones you're sending in, what kinda data are you getting?"
"I'm afraid that's highly classified."
"You can't see anything?" - ―Darcy Lewis and Monti[src]
Following the disappearance of Monica Rambeau, S.W.O.R.D. set up a Response Base outside of Westview to gather information about the anomaly. One of they ways they tried this was by sending drones into the hex. However, none of the drones were able to send any data back to S.W.O.R.D.[1]
Once Rambeau was kicked from Westview, she discovered a way to send things to Westview without them getting warped, which was to send something that didn't need changing. The second attempt of this involved a retro 80s style drone controlled by Rambeau. They soon located Wanda Maximoff and her children, however Maximoff disabled the drone using her magic, right as Tyler Hayward was ordering a S.W.O.R.D to shoot a missile.
Maximoff then decided to stop her show's broadcast to personally grab the drone and exit the Hex. She annoyingly threw the broken drone, which was infused with Chaos Magic. Maximoff then threatened Hayward by telling him this was their only warning. Rambeau tried to make peace with Maximoff, but she told everyone she had what she wanted, before leaving.[3]
S.W.O.R.D kept this drone to harness its energy and use it as the power source on Project Cataract to reboot Vision.[4]
