—Spider-Woman[source]Okay, look, no more "Mr. Murderhands" -- that name is way too self-fulfilling prophecy. Call him "Wolverine."
History
The man who would be known as Logan was a former Japanese samurai, who was cursed by an old crone to live on Earth one day for as many lives he killed. His memory is erased after joining the Weapon X program, in which he gained Adamantium claws. Afterwards, he became part of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s black ops team, in which his fellow operatives nicknamed him "The Immortal Mr. Murderhands." He was accompanied by Kitty Pride, who helped Logan, since she felt guilty after she used her powers to aid the Weapon X program.[1]
Notes
- After Spider-Woman had her mind swapped with the Wolverine of Earth-616, she gives Logan the nickname Wolverine.[2]
Trivia
- This alternate version of Logan shares intentional parallels with Blade of the Immortal protagonist Manji / The Immortal, created by Hiroaki Samura, receiving his immortality from a similar "old crone" who pours green liquid and a slug-like worm into his mouth, and both also formerly being "the samurai" known as "The Immortal".
