I would save something like this for October, but 2010's Tucker and Dale vs. Evil has been on my radar for way too long so it was worth visiting tonight.

Affable hillbillies Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) are on vacation at their dilapidated mountain cabin when they are mistaken for murderers by a group of preppy college students.

The chemistry between Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk is incredible, and I love both their characters since they really make this film. The actors who play the college students are also solid although I wish they were more fleshed out since I feel only a few get decent development only because of the way that the plot goes.

What is great about the film is it's a black comedy and knows that it's a farce. The film is gory but leans more towards humour so I'd say it's kind of Evil Dead 2 meets Shaun of the Dead which I'm all for. I love the fact that the whole premise is just a misunderstanding that gets taken to the extreme, it can also be pretty smart in places and the actors really sell it.

The director Eli Craig does well with such a low budget and I'm glad it doesn't feel polished which allows it to gain a cult following since the film didn't manage to become a massive success but through word of mouth and good reviews it has it's fans and I personally would like to see a sequel.

2010's Tucker and Dale vs. Evil isn't spectular by any means of the imagination, but it's just one of those that can be a fun romp but may tire on re-watches. Certianly a film worth seeking out if you enjoy horror comedies that don't take themselves too seriously.
