Another Spielberg banger! The assembled cast all play their respective characters to perfection, you have Robin Williams (RIP), Dustin Hoffman, Maggie Smith (RIP) and Julia Roberts (wish we got more of her to be honest), who all build off of this whimsical atmosphere so well. An excellent short film that also adds as the foundation of Martin McDonagh’s career as a filmmaker. The performances are very memorable for the short runtime, Brendan Gleason being the slicer lining like he always is, but Rúadhrí Conroy was fantastic here, and effortlessly funny. Brilliant. The fact that this was new territory for Spielberg at the time is insane.
