You don't get to commit sin and then ask all of us to feel sorry for you when there are consequences.
After Intersteller I didn't like anything that Nolan had released. But now I'm happier than ever to see my once favorite director bounce back like this.
Oppenheimer is the kind of film that made me feel that it was a cinematic masterpiece within the first 15 minutes. Even though I was getting a little bored in the 2nd act, it came with a bang in the bomb testing scene and changed the atmosphere entirely. When it comes to the performances, I knew what to expect from Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr but Emily Blunt truly surprised me. But tbh the best thing about this film was the haunting score. It added a profound layer to the film while complementing the striking cinematography.
Idk if it's the best of 2023 but it truly deserves all the awards and nominations.
Edit: It is indeed the best of 2023.
