Yeah I wanted to include that quote in my review. Anyway, I survived Barbenheimer 2023!

My first double feature and oh my god it was epic, a cinematic event like no other. I saw Oppenheimer at 10 am and Barbie at 5 pm so I had a few hours to process everything.

The sound, the damn sound was everything. The scenes where Robert has these hallucinations are where Nolan shows he knows how to direct tense and indecipherable moments. The first detonation scene was glorious. Cillian is out of this world good, his best performance by far from what I’ve seen. Downey was surprisingly good and the rest of the cast was okay, I’m kinda sad that so many good actors didn’t get time to shine properly.

Mi primera función doble y, Dios mío, fue épica, un evento cinematográfico como ningún otro. Vi a Oppenheimer a las 10 a. m. ya Barbie a las 5 p. m., así que tuve algunas horas para procesar todo.

El sonido, el maldito sonido lo era todo. Las escenas donde Robert tiene estas alucinaciones son donde Nolan demuestra que sabe dirigir momentos tensos e indescifrables. La primera escena de la detonación fue gloriosa. Cillian está fuera de este mundo, su mejor actuación por mucho de lo que he visto. Downey fue sorprendentemente bueno y el resto del elenco estuvo bien, estoy un poco triste porque tantos buenos actores no tuvieron tiempo de brillar adecuadamente.
