My favourite Marvel movie.
Outrageously entertaining, perfectly paced and the most visually creative animated film I've seen.
Into the Spider-Verse is what animation should be...it uses the most it can possibly get out of this medium, and dares to go further...and further, but amazingly it never feels too much.
The line delivery from almost everyone is impeccable, but especially Jake Johnson, Nicolas Cage and John Mulaney...who are all absolutely hilarious! That is one thing that exceeded my expectations; it was so much funnier than I thought it was going to be. In fact, I haven't laughed this hard at a film for some time - the post-credit scene is not only hilarious but my personal favourite post-credit scene from Marvel.
I've never read a Marvel comic and if you know me, you would know I am certainly not a fan of the Marvel movies...but this had something so special to it...
The final act falls into familiar territory but I was just so blown away by how revolutionary this was, I loved it.
