Perfect movie to distract from the Terrors™. Sad I missed this one in its theater run and sad it didn't do more in the awards space. It's rock solid with a surprisingly good score. Mangold maybe one of the great workman directors of the 21st Century with really consistent output.
We're the Millers 2013

Fun, with a good cast. Not the end all be all of comedies but there's some solid bits here. Always down for an R-rated road comedy.

Always really kick-ass when a movie fits your preferred specs and this one does almost to a t. Dark, moody, courtroom thriller with some really compelling performances and a resolution that keeps you thinking about it afterwards. Feel like I'm just scratching the surface in my head of what the final shot means.
Could be a bit tighter in some areas but really compelling work here.
Nosferatu 2024

A real treat to see something this dark and gothic and and weird and beautiful and bloody disgusting in a completely packed house.
Almost every scene has like one long, flowing camera movement with blocking that makes the edit feel invisible. The bluish black and white dreamy photography gets perfectly undercut by the orange of fire and the red of blood.
Idk man I'm in love with pretty much everything I just saw with the big exception of ATJ, who just really feels miscast here, but even that's not enough to bring me down from what just feels like a really special movie going experience.
