Just absolutely absurd in the best way possible. I have no clue how this was made if you’re not familiar with the production nightmare it’s worth looking up. Throws your smack into the the nightmarish world and lets you sink or swim it’s so good. The sequence of the caravan entering the storm is one of my favorite scenes probably in all of film with the music and the colors of everything. Same with the nighttime marsh sequence with the pale
blue tint along with incredible world building details like the stilt walkers. Every single person important to the plot is so capable in their own right and even the ones that are playing guitar that shoots flames, they’re taking everything that is transpiring as serious as possible making it all work.
Furiosa is made into one of the best characters ever thanks to Charlize Theron enduring immensely and Miller making a dedicated effort to empower characters. Made all the more impactful when the paradise they seek turns out to have been long gone leaving their only option to turn right about around to take what’s left of the world for themselves, Furiosa set to lead.
Max says “hope is a mistake” and “if you can’t fix what’s broken, you’ll go insane” so he inspires the charge to start again, just tremendous.
