Perhaps yes it is unfair to compare Furiosa to Fury Road, as this film here is just an honest to god masterpiece of a movie, I mean you forget how good every component of this film is and that's what makes it in it's whole the breath-taking cinematic experience that it is.
There's an urgency to Fury Road that no other Mad Max film has, it plays out in captivating fashion and you can be nought but enthralled by it's visceral nature, it's electrifying pace and it's dazzling beauty.
Whilst Furiosa is a film designed to expand upon this world and it's characters, Fury Road simply exists to play in that world and doesn't care to hold your hand to guide you through it, it just invites you along for the ride it was always going to be by design, there's conciseness and focus to it's narrative as a result of this simplicity.
Furiosa does indeed appreciate my feelings for Fury Road, just not quite in the way that many other reviewers are putting forth, or at least not to the degree that some are implying it drastically improves the emotional stakes of Fury Road, I think they were pretty well set already within the context of Fury Road by it's own right. No what I appreciate more now about this film is seeing how it could have been considerably less, as I perceived Furiosa to be at this moment in time.
