I wasn't sure I would still love this... But after the first 30 minutes alone I realised that yes, yes I did still love it. What is it that I love? Its fresh and raw. It does something films aren't doing at the moment. It's visceral and dangerous, but stunning and beautiful whilst also grotesque and gory. It's full of tiny details and broad strokes. It sounds incredible and has a bland of hard metal yet some incredible orchestral string pieces. The acting is amazing and direction solid and true. Films aren't being made like this any more and I don't know why. Critics and viewers alike loved this. It was supposed to kick start a trilogy and according to Hardy in July everyone is ready to go, the only people dithering are the Warner Bros studio and I honestly don't know why. Surely the first film showed that this is bankable and with everyone back on board (which apparently they would be) there's no reason why the success wouldn't continue. Bring us more. This was great...
