“Cooper, they didn’t bring us to change the past…” “Say that again..” “THEY DIDN’T BRING US TO CHANGE THE PAST.”
I did it, a thing i’ve been wishing for and now eight months later, here I am seeing it downtown at one of the IMAX theatres in Toronto. It was hell getting down there, though in the end it was all worth it.
To start off, this film was made for IMAX, basically almost all of Nolan’s films were. But this film specifically, has me in awe with every scene, and my theatre was choked up just watching. a film I loved from the start and knew I had to watch it when it came back to theatres, It’s an experience i’ll never forget, a packed theatre, with the biggest screen you’ll ever see, to top it all off. Truly still a phenomenal film, hearing Hans Zimmer’s score was a true blessing to my ears, and it’s one of the scores that gives me chills, and no one could ever make me hate Christopher Nolan, he’s one of the greats, and every film that man makes is sometimes basically a masterpiece, just like this one. I really don’t know how to explain this this film in this format, but the aspect ratio used is different than at home, like how it goes from widescreen to full screen for many scenes, some moments are breathtaking, others are shot beautifully just like how Nolan wanted it to be. If I was to say one thing, I would say nothing will ever be better than IMAX, it’s that type of format that is unbeatable, it’s one of the reasons why cinema can’t die, and I mean I’ve watched the film on Netflix on my TV, and have the film on DVD (found it few weeks ago at the thrift store), but still IMAX still reigns as the superior way to watch a film. to which I still regret missing my chances at seeing Oppenheimer, and Dune: Part Two in that format.
However i’m very glad to be able to have finally got to sit in a theatre with a bunch of the film’s fans, and shed a bunch of tears, like everyone else, where my experience was extraordinary, and it really was just worth it in the end. And with that said, this film is just an emotional journey, with a tear jerker of a story, and with stunning, breathtaking visuals, it’s still an astonishing film once again, and in IMAX, it’s an out-of-this-world experience man. 🪐🚀
