The dream. The nightmare.
This is a movie that couldn’t be more tailor made for me, a History major who now teaches 20th Century US History to high school students. It’s from the first director that I truly started to follow when I was 15 years old. It stars dang near every good actor in Hollywood. It had expectations a mile high. It delivered.
I got to see this on film in Imax at a theater that I grew up going to. I have so many memories from that place and I sat next to my brother, my best friend, to top it off. I’ll never be able to write anything extraordinarily analytical but I can tell you that Nolan pulled off a 3 hour biographical drama that had me on the edge of my seat. It’s not simple. He doesn’t hold your hand. He jumps from timeline to timeline, never holding back. It makes you think.
It was a spectacle, an absolute delight. I loved every minute. It’s a movie experience that I will never forget. I’m thankful to have been able to see it that way. I can’t wait to watch it again.
