Probably the best action in any movie over the past decade, Fury Road is a heart pounding adrenaline fueled experience from beginning to end. It’s a wonder the movie turned out as amazing it did given all the behind the scenes problems that plagued this movie. I don’t think any movie has managed to make the desert look so strikingly beautiful yet dangerously barren in every shot. The score is the definition of head banging and every time Guitar Guy showed up, you know that scene was going to positively fuck.
It’s relatively simple story helps draw viewers in while providing subtle character work as a background to the intense action, which is a word I would not use to describe anything else in the movie. Everything in this movie is balls to the wall, and watching this is probably the closest thing to being on drugs. It’s a testament to the power of practical effects, and it absolutely lives up to the hype.
