    The Unforgivable is a drama thriller that's set in a classic hard-boiled world but could have done a lot more. Sandra Bullock stars as Ruth, a woman who served her time for a violent crime, get out early on good behavior, and renters society after 20 years. She tries to put her life back together while looking for the sister she left behind when she was incarcerated, but the world refuses to forgive her. Perfect title. We got a great performance…

    what's unforgivable is how they managed to waste a movie starring BOTH sandra bullock and viola davis. with that said, their talents still irrevocably shone though. both performances, specifically during a heated exhange, almost completely compensated for every flaw there was with the screenplay. maybe that alone is a reason worthy enough to watch this.

    (sandra bullock's character literally looks like she reeks. yes, i still want her.)

    It’s no surprise that Nora Fingscheidt’s “The Unforgivable” is based on a British miniseries (2009’s “Unforgiven,” to be exact), as this Sandra Bullock ex-con drama about a woman released into the merciless cold of Snohomish, Wisconsin, after a 20-year murder stint is gray enough to seem like it still has one foot planted in Yorkshire.
