Even without the sentimentality it sets a strong sense of commune & the everlasting camaraderie between the working class. To touch so many lives through the selfless acts of benevolence, George Bailey is the epitome of ideal impersonation. Even through we didn't have that highest level of character, at one point or another we can identify with him, shred tears with him because we'll always have that pure child in our mind with strong sense of justice & good will. Diminishes any thoughts of suicidal tendencies & replaces it with an incredible amount of hopeful outlook towards life. Watched it with my dad to show what a great friend he's been throughout with only way I know how through my cinematic friend.
