But to you, a warped, frustrated old man, they're cattle.”
An excerpt from my favorite monologue in the entire film, gives me chills every time I watch this film. A film I consider to be the perfect Christmas film, it’s my favorite Christmas film, one of my favorite films ever, and a film I’ve seen way more than any other film. James Stewart is perfect and iconic as George Bailey, Donna Reed is gorgeous and brilliant as Mary. It’s just a great cast in a great film. The music, direction, it’s just all perfect in my opinion, forming a film I will never grow tired of watching. I love it.
Obviously I highly recommend the film, some won’t love it as much, or think it’s as good as I do, but I think just about anyone can see why it’s so beloved. If you haven’t watched it, I beg you to watch it next year for Christmas or any time, it’s not necessarily a Christmas movie, though it’s considered that at this point. Either way, watch this masterpiece, it’s must see at least once.
