Well, I might as well stop hiding and running away from my problems and tell you what happened.
(Also, for privacy reasons, these names will remain anonymous. And before you post a comment, I highly recommend you read this, top to bottom.)
You probably noticed why I haven't made a single review for almost a month. Some of you are probably thinking that I killed myself over my depression, or I decided to quit Letterboxd for good. Well, that's not true, and I'm going to tell you what happened in a truthful and mature manner. So a while back, I was in a depressed mood, for reasons such as lack of confidence, having some anger and jealousy issues, and more personal reasons I don't want to get into. I was really lonely and don't know what to do, so I decided to talk to vent to a friend and I told that friend I'm too depressed and feel like killing myself. And before I could say anything else, BAM! The friend blocked me before I got to ask anything else. And before long, my closest friend found about it and he was really upset at me and snapped at me for what I've done, and I'm not gonna lie, I was super guilty for my sins, and regretted saying what is called, "Manipulation", which means I've been manipulating my friend for sympathy and what I did was a dickish move. Knowing that I'm better than this and admit that my actions have consequences, I decided to step out of Letterboxd for almost a month just to go the Ishida Route. (A.K.A. Redeeming myself from this mess.)
How did I redeem myself you may ask? Well, here's how:
1.) Openly admit that what I did is wrong and own up to what I did.
2.) Write an apology letter to the friend I manipulated and admit everything that I did wrong, and instead of being friends immediately, I decided to leave my friend alone and fix myself.
3.) Get a therapist and talk about my actions and how could I have done differently instead of manipulating my friend for sympathy, such as maybe talking about a hobby or what I've been doing recently, or maybe ask tell them a story.
4.) Cut down my social media addiction and go outside and touch some grass more often.
And 5.) Make up for what I did to my friend by working on a drawing for them.
So yeah, I'm sure after you read this whole thing, you're pretty upset and disappointed for what I've done, and that's okay. I admit that's a very dickish move and I clearly regretted doing that. But what matters most is that I learned my lesson on not manipulating others for sympathy and made a promise not to manipulate others ever again. I'm sure you're really worried about what's happening to me during this crazy month, and I'm here to tell you that I'm okay. Just not in the mood at this moment. I know that I'm better than this and I am still recovering from my sins step by step. I'm still not in the mood to review movies at this moment since I lost my taste in reviewing movies for now. I'll be back sometime later. So I wish you all a happy and healthy life.
