Time really flies huh? Another year has passed and it's time for an end of the year retrospective! Just some quick highlights as I discuss some favorites, disappointments, and some straight up stinkers.

Film: For the first time I ALMOST saw everything I wanted to for 2024. Of course I'll be picking off the stragglers (like Nosferatu) but yeah I'm satisfied with what I saw. As expected my favorite film of the year was Dune: Part 2 but I won't lie Sonic the Hedgehog 3 made me so happy, it's #1 in spirit. Films like Anora, The Wild Robot, Inside Out 2, and Challengers weren't far behind though! Great watches like Transformers One, Alien Romulus, The Substance, and even Deadpool and Wolverine were all fun with friends and family. Alright maybe not The Substance. Truthfully the most satisfying thing I accomplished on Letterboxd was logging all of the Studio Ghibli Films. Such beautiful art. On the flip side here are the worst films of the year off the top of my head: Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, Borderlands, and Megalopolis. Just yuck. Every year is a good year for movies if you watch enough and 2024 was solid! It was no 2023 but still.

TV: Of the decent amount I saw (in terms of new TV) this year my favorites were absolutely The Penguin, X-men 97, and Fallout S1. Arcane S2, The Boys S4, Invincible S2, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith S1 were great stuff too! Stuff like Batman Caped Crusader and Terminator Zero were solid watches, the former being a little underwhelming ngl. I didn't watch just new shows though, I went back in time a bit. Saw the masterpiece anime series Monster, Link Click, and rewatched OG Teen Titans. My biggest surprise was Orphan Black, I absolutely loved that! And by far the most disappointing show I saw this year was Like a Dragon: Yakuza, huge swing and a miss there. That or Knuckles, can't really decide. Wish I got to shows like Shogun or The Sympathizer but those will have to wait.

Video Games: It was solely a Sonic year for me folks, I don't play many games to begin with anymore but I fit in a couple. In honor of the new movie, Sega dubbed 2024 "the year of Shadow" so in anticipation for Sonic X Shadow Generations (fantastic game) I decided to finally play the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. And being 100% honest it's not that bad, unplayable is WAY too dramatic, I got through the whole thing just fine. In other words: skill issue. It's not good though let's make that clear lol.

The Future: I made a Most Anticipated for 2025 list but for sure the two films I'm excited about are Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning and Superman. But sometimes the best films of the year are surprises so we'll see. In terms of TV it's gotta be Severance S2, Daredevil Born Again, and Invincible S3. Dunno if One Punch Man S3 will actually happen this year but hey fingers crossed! And as for my future on Letterboxd I'm not quite sure tbh. I've been logging everyday for the past few years and as far as I can tell I definitely see myself slowing down. Dunno how much yet but I'll still be here and reading your logs! Anyway yeah, I love movies, I love art, and I can't wait for more!
