Shikobei (しこべい) is a member of the Crimson Demons, and the Crimson Demon Village's foremost fisherman.[1]
Appearance[]
Shikobei is a lean and fit middle-aged man dressed in a traditional Japanese fisherman outfit, in addition to wearing fishing googles and a hood.
Personality[]
Like all Crimson Demons, Shikobei has chuunibyou tendencies, being an attention seeker. Upon introduction, his eyes will glow, and during his spiel he will claim to one day catch a Kraken.
He is described as one of the unemployed and worthless citizens of the village.
History[]
The only fisherman in the village, Shikobei was known to engage in worthless pursuits, such as the petrification of Gargoyles to display as "bonsai". When the Gargoyles began returning to normal and running amok around the village due to the unsealing of the Dark God, he joined in a defence militia that indiscriminately blasted all the monsters away and in the process destroyed the village, which he had to help rebuild overnight.
As the Servants of the Dark God started rampaging around the village, he also took part in their cleansing.[2] When Arnes later showed up at Megumin's home, Shikobei was one of the worthless men attracted there by her bracelet. Thinking that she was the one responsible for the recent string of nightly Explosions around the village, he teamed up with the other similarly worthless village men into chasing the traumatised Demon off.[3]
During the attacks from the Devil King's Army under the command of Sylvia, Shikobei was one of those who frequently took to the battlefield, and fought furiously to hold back Sylvia as she razed the village. Forced to retreat when his magic was nullified by the Mage-Killer, he later transferred his magical powers to Wiz so that she could pass it on to Megumin and Yunyun.[4]
Abilities[]
Advanced Magic: Like all Crimson Demons, Shikobei is a powerful arch wizard who mastered the Advanced Magic.
- Burning Flash: Summons a tornado of lightning capable of annihilating everything in its path.
- Light of Saber: Creates a beam of light that cleanly slices the target.
- Earthshaker: Summons an earthquake.
Equipment[]
Fishing Rod: When in battle, Shikobei is seen to cast magic from his fishing rod like with a magic wand.

- Shikobei is an anime-original character.
- His name is probably based off Mihira Sanpei from the Fisherman Sanpei series.
