Thanksgiving preparations are underway, and for many, that means the ultimate meal prep. Now is the time that hungry Houstonians are choosing between turkey or ham, picking pies, and narrowing down their list of sides, which can make a day full of delicious decision-making.

In Houston, the ancestral home of the Karankawa, Coahuiltecan, Atakapa-Ishak, and Sana people, many restaurants are once again offering impressive to-go options, but several are open for dine-in on Thanksgiving Day as well. Whether you’re looking to supplement your dinner at home, or you prefer a lavish affair with live entertainment at a restaurant in lieu of cooking, you’ll find it at these following Houston restaurants.

Eat to your heart’s content at this upscale Galleria area restaurant’s Thanksgiving Day buffet. Held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., this all-you-can-eat deluxe buffet will feature starters like lobster bisque, carving stations with turkey, salmon, and filet, plus soulful sides, sauces, and desserts like peach cobbler and pumpkin pie. Dinner is $59 per person, $28 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for kids 5 and under.

Each of chef Aaron Bludorn’s restaurants (Bludorn, Navy Blue, and Bar Bludorn) will invite diners in for stellar three-course meals this Thanksgiving. Bludorn, located in the Fourth Ward area, will offer a coursed menu of roast turkey, smoked maitake mushroom, and potato gnocchi, plus a selection of raw, fried, or roasted oysters for the table for $105 per person. Diners can make it even fancier with optional caviar service and white truffle add-ons to the pastas and risotto for extra. Navy Blue, Bludorn’s seafood-focused restaurant, will offer staples like crab cakes, seafood gumbo, and seared scallops, plus meaty options like a hangar steak served with kale, a rich bone marrow butter, and sauce bordelaise for $85 per person. The more casual Bar Bludorn in Memorial will offer a combination of Thanksgiving classics and New American and French-inspired dishes, including a spread of turkey, cranberry sauce, and gravy, plus restaurant specialties like country ham beignets, and its flounder with haricot vers and sauce almondine ($75 per person). Dine with a view this holiday at the Thompson Hotel’s rooftop restaurant, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. this Thanksgiving. Diners will get treated to a three-course meal ($55 per person), with starters like pumpkin bisque or oysters on the half shell with apple and cranberry mignonette, and a choice between wild mushroom tagliatelle with a porcini cream sauce, apple cider-brined pork chops with sweet potato mash, and herb-roasted turkey breast served with jalapeno cornbread stuffing, whipped mashed potatoes, and green beans. BB’s Tex-Orleans injects its garlic-rubbed turkeys with herbs and spices before deep-frying it, and stuffing it at diners’s request with boudin dirty rice. Helmed by Louisiana native chef Drake Leonards, this Upper Kirby restaurant will host dine-in service on Thanksgiving Day. From 11 a.m. to 9 p p.m., diners can fill up on Cajun stuffed turkey with sweet potatoes and cranberry marmalade, a vegetable ragout made from produce sourced from the Urban Harvest Farmers Market, and pumpkin pie tarts served with pistachio ice cream. If dining at home, the restaurant is also willing to help you set the table, with a catering menu featuring crawfish and cornbread stuffing and sweet potato casserole.
