Trivia[]
Etymology[]
- Daisesshou means "mass slaughter" or "massacre," where the term sesshou ("killing" or "slaughter") is often used in Buddhist contexts with the connotation of a cardinal sin.
- Jugon (Japanese: 呪禁 "Mantra Sorcery"), translated as "Forbidden Art" here, was an ancient Taoist magic in Japan. The jugon sorcerers had been officially employed as court wizards from 691. The magic, however, came to be regarded as a forbidden art due to its kodoku sorcery (poisonous curse) and was finally abolished in the 9th century.
